Is your life in danger of being hijacked?

In some countries there is a very real danger of being hijacked
and having your car stolen. In other countries it’s your biggest
dreams that get taken, right from under your nose.

I’m not sure which is worse. A gun squeezed against your temple
for your car keys, or a dream squeezed out of you at an early
age.

In Switzerland, more than any other country, the risks of having
your car keys taken are virtually nil. I’ve left my keys in the
ignition for years and I can’t seem to tempt anyone! (But then
maybe this is a reflection of my car rather than the country!)
:)
Still, dream hijacking is huge. And just because you can’t see
the violence, doesn’t mean it isn’t there.

So, how do dreams get hijacked?

Have you ever watched a frigate bird in action?

This is a big black sea bird. Frigates are the pirates of the
bird world.
They even look like pirates! These birds hover up high waiting
for other seabirds to catch a fish.
As soon as they spot one with a full beak they dive bomb. The
poor gull gets such a fright they drop their dinner and the
frigate scoops up the bounty without missing a wing beat.

Something similar happens in the human world. It’s called shame
and humiliation. Children are most vulnerable to being shamed or
humiliated. So are people who haven’t really examined who they
are and what they stand for. You get bumped and whoops. Next
minute you’re on another track, and your life feels empty.

How does this work?

Something happens to cause you to feel deeply shamed. (You get
dive-bombed) This is an unbearable feeling and often the only
solution is to simply numb out. The more you numb out, the more
you lose touch with your core desires. (You drop your fish, the
one thing that feeds you.) This then causes you to numb out even
more. You’re no longer connected to your feelings. Now anything
can happen. You have no boundaries, maybe even no respect. You
become putty in anyone’s hands, easily molded. This causes even
more numbness and eventually (if you’re lucky!) anger or
depression.

Why lucky? Well then you know something’s wrong and you can fix
it.

This sounds extreme and it can be, especially in cases of sexual
violation. But what about shaming as a form of social control,
by teachers or over-authoritarian parents? We get trained to
tow the line, conform, be responsible and quit dreaming. So we
put our deepest dreams on hold, often for an entire lifetime.
Sometimes the only way to cope with this violation is to numb
out completely to your heart’s calling. We become numb to our
own feelings and deep passions. Sometimes this numbness is so
deep and has lasted so long we don’t even know it exists!

So, what can we do?
We can find out who we really are and what we really want. A
very good way to do this is through hand analysis.
http://www.handanalysisonline.com/consultation.php

Also, ask yourself: who really is steering my life?

If you don’t choose what you want to do with every minute of
your life, someone else will do this for you!

Look back at your last week, last month, last year.
To what extent did you do what you really wanted or was it
someone else’s idea?

Sometimes we think we are steering but actually we aren’t!

How so?

We are creatures of habit and habitual thinking. Most of our
habits come from our parents or early teachers.
As Bob Proctor says: “You are the product of someone else’s
habitual way of thinking.”

To what extent are you conscious of the habits and belief
systems controlling your life? To what extent are you making
decisions based on faulty thinking inherited from your family:
generational fear, ignorance, stories told over and over? We
can’t change what we are not aware of.

The good news?
You can change any habit or belief you like. It takes only 21
days of willpower and then the new habit/belief becomes
automatic and runs on autopilot.
The problem is, we often don’t know what faulty thinking is
running our lives. If you don’t know what to change, you can’t
change it!

Questions I ask myself: what are the secondary benefits to
staying blocked? What am I currently getting out of not moving
forward?

To what extent are you aware of the choices you make and your
core values?
And to what extent are you in touch with your deepest heart’s
desire: Your soul’s calling?

Are you being blocked from living your passions by faulty family
thinking? Or are you being blocked by shame?

The more you explore what’s really blocking you, and what you
value, the freer you become to live the life of your dreams.

The way I see it, here are 4 steps: 1. Explore who you are (hand analysis)
2. Explore what you really want. Are your wants really your
wants?
3. Explore what you stand for (your values)
4. Figure out what’s blocking you.

Why know your values? Because if you know what you stand for you
can’t get bumped/humiliated.
Also, if your wants clash with your values then they are probably
not your wants but someone else’s.

Here’s a small example from my life. The other day I went to
visit a friend and I took a video with me of my son ‘practicing’
his violin. I thought the video was rather funny but my friend
was horrified. There he was, strumming this delicate precious
instrument singing, ‘I’ve got a little guitar, oh yeah!’
Actually she was more than horrified. It was painful for her to
even look at the video and she chastised me for allowing it.
If I didn’t have a clear idea of what my values are, that I
value creative expression over material object, I may have felt
deeply shamed and would have started tightening up on Jules in
ways that don’t align with my heart.

But let’s push this to the extreme. What if he stomps on his
violin and sets fire to it like Jimmy Hendrix?
I’ll probably just strangle him! He can do that when he’s a
virtuoso and bought the thing himself.
Yes, Jules does have to learn to respect and care for his
instrument and, as his mother, this is my responsibility to
teach. But I believe he also has to be free to experiment.
Where to draw the line? There are no right and wrong answers
here. It is just a question of values and why you need to be
completely clear about what you personally treasure most.

What do you value most in life? Freedom or security? Beauty or
creative expression? Family or independence? Pure air or owing a
car? Once you know what you stand for you cannot be shifted off
course by other people. You cannot be shamed. You will be less
likely to drop your fish when a frigate dive-bombs you. You’re
prepared! You’ve thought about the subject and made a conscious,
rather than unconscious choice.

Back to blocked passions and finding out what yours are. There’s
Hand analysis for showing you where you are blocked. And there’s
David Neagle for helping you leapfrog over faulty family
thinking.

How do blocked passions show up in hands?

This issue can show up in the fingerprints or in the lines.
If it shows up in the fingerprints, this is a major issue in
your life.
How does it show up in fingerprints? The lowest ranked
fingerprint is on left index finger.
And in Lines? Look for a combination of these:
An attack line to the Pluto area (anger from
thwarted ambitions) or career line
An attack line to Saturn (a depression indicator)
An index finger that bends away from the thumb (a power giveaway
marker)
A heart line that has fork down into the Mars area (can’t say
no)
A co-dependency line (not in own movie)
A career line that starts inside the lifeline (parent’s chose
career)
Bubbles, Grills, diamonds or boxes under the middle finger or on
the headline (indecision etc related to career)
A bubble on the bottom of the lifeline (a burden of family
expectations).
These just some of many examples.

Day 11- Stepping beyond your comfort zone

In order to grasp and fully utilise all the gifts offered to you on all the previous days
You need to learn how to step beyond your own comfort zone.

David Neagle teaches these skills in a seminar twice yearly, his next is in Las Vegas 15-17 January 2008. Listen to my interview with him here, get a free evaluation from a coach trained by him and have his CD program ‘Just Believe’ posted to you free of charge here. (I’ve checked it out. There is no pressure to buy anything. Accept this as a gift from the universe for having the courage to step beyond your comfort zone to embrace the idea that ‘receiving is also giving’. )

Learning to feel the fear and do it anyway

One has to learn to go through the zone of uncomfort. Normally we go into this zone and then step back. We have no training in going through the zone of discomfort to the zone of success.
Neagle says usually we only experience this as babies, being encouraged to walk. Later parents focus on teaching their children to be cautious rather than adventurous.. We don’t have the experience of going over the uncomfortable line into the zone where in becomes comfortable and where we experience a different result. This is an awareness that has to be learnt through direct experience. Neagle specialises in this training.

I like to think of the analogy of Elephants in India who can be bound by a tiny chord tied to a post. As a baby, the animal learnt that it couldn’t move the post. As it grows up it gives up trying. It simply believes it can’t break free. This is absolutely not true. As adults, they just haven’t tried and never do!! They are bound by their belief.
We are all like these elephants, bound by faulty programming, our belief in our own limitations.

We are raised to listen to listen to the voice of caution, to concerns, fears, irrational beliefs and this flips us back in the direction we don’t wish to go in.
Do you have the awareness to see the gift in whatever it is you are attracting? If you do, you can transform your life really quickly. (Everything you attract is an opportunity, where is the hidden gift?)

Learn how to be resourceful. The resources are there the whole time. One just has to seize them. One has to learn how to think on one’s feet to manifest something from nothing in a very short period of time.

Other thoughts from David:
Dealing with defensive people/children – when someone is defensive they are in fear of something being taken away, usually something being taken away from their identity. This makes them feel no good, not adequate. Help others/your children to think about themselves differently, not as a thing or a result. Teach them how to not be afraid to embrace whatever they want to embrace.

When you put up a shield, if you take down shield what will hurt? Get in touch with that hurt.

When thinking, feeling and action are all congruent that’s the stuff of miracles.

You can’t change something you are not aware of. Start being conscious of your thinking. Thinking about your thinking. Why do you have the beliefs that you have?

The decision making process is part of the process described in my email titled ‘seeing opportunities’ to read this newsletter see my blog by this name.

To summarise the process:

If you ask for something you are given an opportunity to grow towards what you seek.

The trick is:
Recognise the opportunity (you either do or don’t)
Make a committed decision (if you procrastinate it takes longer) (see day 4)
Learn to adapt and grow so that you can
See the next opportunity

12 days of dreaming - day 4

On the 4th day of dreaming
I bring you the 4 essential questions to ask yourself each time you need to make a decision.

Whenever you are presented with any kind of a decision, it could be a decision to embrace an idea or to start a business, or it could be a decision about any situation or opportunity that comes into your life, simply ask yourself these 4 questions:

Is this thing something that I want to be, do or have?
Is being doing or having this going to take me in the direction I wish to go?
Is being, doing or having this in harmony with the laws of the universe (will it add life to me and to others?)
Is being, doing or having this going to violate the rights of others? (ie. Does it take away their ability to make a choice?)

If the answer is ‘yes’ to the first three questions and ‘no’ to the forth then let nothing else hold you back. Commit fully to the decision and act on it immediately.

This technique comes from David Neagle.
David says that most people get stuck here because they ask:
How is it going to happen.? It is not your job to know how! A leap of faith is required. Once you decide you are going to do something all of the ways of how you are going to do this, all the opportunities to make it happen begin to show up, but only if you commit fully. The trick also is to see these opportunities for what they are and embrace them as they arise.

We are raised to listen to the voice of caution, to concerns, fears, irrational beliefs and this flips us back in the direction we don’t wish to go in.
Do you have the awareness to see the gift in whatever it is you are attracting? If you do, you can transform your life really quickly. (Everything you attract is an opportunity, where is the hidden gift?)

Listen to my interview with David and take advantage of his 2 incredible gifts downloadable here.

Here's a big tip: generally whatever you are resisting most is your next step.

How come?

Whenever you ask a question, the answer is already in front of you.
If you are not seeing what this is, you are resisting changing something.
Generally the next step is whatever you are resisting most!

To summarise the process:
If you ask for something you are given an opportunity to grow towards what you seek.

The trick is:
Recognise the opportunity (you either do or don’t)
Make a committed decision (if you procrastinate it takes longer)
Learn to adapt and grow so that you can see the next opportunity….

If you don’t see the opportunity or act on it, there will always be another.
The only difference is it will take longer to get to where you want to be.

What is controlling your decision making with regard to where you are taking your own life?

As Napoleon Hill said, ‘Somewhere in your makeup there lies sleeping the seed of achievement which if aroused and put into action will carry you to heights you may never had hoped to attain.’

How to become aware of your inner spark? The highest expression of who you are?
How can you positively impact on other people’s lives? What is it that you can offer to the world? Your life purpose is visible in your fingerprints. To find out more, go here

Happy dreaming!

seeing opportunities

I listened to an interesting talk the other night between
JamesRoche and David Neagle on the sly disguises of opportunity.

Neagle said something so profound it absolutely took my breathaway.
Something that I think nearly all of us trip over.

What's that?
He said, if you ask for something, it immediately comes to you in the form
of an opportunity.
However, if what you ask for requires your growth, the opportunity may
come disguised as misfortune or temporary defeat.
Often we don't even see it as an opportunity because it looks like a hurdle
rather than an opportunity! The big danger then is not to grasp the opportunity.

Why does the opportunity show up as a hurdle?
Because what you have asked for is not at the same level as you are.
It's usually much higher! You are therefore given an 'opportunity' that requires
you to move one step above where you are right now. In a nutshell: you are given an opportunity to grow. To stretch yourself to wherever you actually want to be.

But, here's the real gem.
Even if we do see the opportunity (for example, to develop new skills, hire a coach,
study or leave a job or partner) we very often don't act on it!

Why? Because we usually only see why we can't do it. Or why we can't do it right now.
Then we make a decision that keeps us stuck in the same place. The magic formula usually requires the opposite. It requires a radical leap of faith!

First we have to make the decision to grasp the opportunity. Only then do we get to see the next step.
Actually I know this is true. I've seen this play out in my lifeover and over.
And I've also been stuck on the other side just as often. Completely 'on hold'..
Seeing only the hurdle right in front of my nose instead of embracing the opportunity.

For example, we can't see where the money will come from. But actually, the first step is to seize the opportunity . Make the decision and commit to it fully. Even if it moves you right out of your comfort zone. Only then will you see where the money comes from. (You are actually flipping the coin here. We will talk about this later.)

Isn't life delicious!?
Neagle suggests:
When you ask for more love you get an opportunity to be more loving.
When you ask for more money you get an opportunity to provide more service.
When you ask for better health you get an opportunity to eat better etc.

Getting what you ask for is a three step process:
1. see the opportunity for what it is
2. make the decision to do it
3. change with the opportunity/ adapt and grow

The only things that actually slow the manifestation down are:
1. how you make your decisions (do you put it off?)
2. how fast you adapt to the change

To become an instrument for the music to flow through you, you have to discipline yourself to get there.

So what has this got to do with hands and laws of the universe?

Everything and nothing.

How this leap of faith works has to do with the law of polarity.
And what's that?

It's the principle that nothing exists in your life without its opposite also existing.
Everything has a shadow side. The only difference is: which side are you focusing on right now?Poverty is the same as wealth. Just the other side of the coin.
The question is: What side of the coin are you looking at?
Then.. that's your reality!
Flip the coin and you start experiencing the other side.

This law is absolutely demonstrated in your hands.
Your greatest strengths are also your weaknesses.
Which side are you focusing on?
Do you use your gifts or do you stay in their blocked shadow state?

Knowing you have this choice is what hand analysis is all about.
(Actually, knowing you have this choice is what life is allabout!)

We choose heaven or we choose hell with every breath.
If you would like to understand this principle more or have any questions,
please send them to me as I am interviewing David tonight.(more in next blog )
