Obama's Hands - Are we all in good hands?

We're living in exciting times!

America’s in new hands and the rest of the world it.

But who is this man we’re embracing? What do we know about the hands that hold all our hopes and dreams?

Hands don’t lie. Hands speak volumes about their owners. Our strengths, weaknesses, challenges and even deepest motivators are visible in our palms.

Obama has a big task ahead of him. Can he get the job done? Is he a good team player? Will he take the resto fthe world into consideration? Will he be able to navigate America through choppy seas?

So what do Obama’s hands say?

The set of Obama’s thumb indicates that he is a good team player. This is good news for the rest of the world. He is likely to work with other countries and other factions for the good of all. The deep long line running under his middle finger is the hallmark of a highly responsible person. This line indicates a capacity and willingness to work. He gets the job done! His ‘trains all run on time’. This is good news in a president’s hands. He’ll lead by doing.

Other good news is his headline type. He has a very special headline type called a HAL. This long headline that runs almost to the edge of the palm but not over it is a giftmarker indicating that he is built to solve world scale problems. So, he certainly has the perfect brain for the job.

But what about his heart?

The long upward sweep of his heart line towards the middle finger indicates a passionate, expressive communication style. Obama has fire in his heart! He knows what he wants and isn’t shy to express his needs. Fortunately he also has rounded tips to his fingers indicating a cheerful, friendly disposition and a desire to please others.

Obama’s heart line type also indicates that h’s charismatic and charming. This is mirrored in his healthy Venus zone (the fleshy bulge under the thumb)

He also has a very healthy gap between his headline and lifeline. This means he is an independent thinker. His thinking is not bound to that of his family of origin.

The bad news?

Obama has a relatively low set index finger. This means he feels he doesn’t always get the respect he deserves. Quite understandable given his background.

But can he overcome this?

I think so. Obama has a relatively long hand with long fingers. This indicates an interesting blend of thoughtfulness and sensitivity. He can think objectively about feelings without reacting blindly. Good qualities for hands that hold so much power.

What drives Obama? Obama has a very high set ring finger. This means that he thrives on applause and being in the spotlight. It’s a fundamental need. The worst thing you could do to this man is ignore him.

Hardly likely considering that he is now most powerful man on this planet!

The other thing that drives Obama is his fundamental need to solve world scale problems.

Overall, this is a good hand for a peace maker and a leader. Both strong and sensitive, he can see the broader picture, hold a vision, lead powerfully and at the same time connect with others, considering their needs and opinions. It's an intoxicating mixture (charisma, passion, fairness, staying power and intelligence).

Perfect for the man who will lead the world into a new era of peace and mutual prosperity.

Keeping promises

We’re already 5 days into 2009, which is when New Year resolutions start to go more or less out the window, or are in danger of tiptoeing in that direction.

Resolutions are promises we make to ourselves. My New Year started with shock therapy to cure me forever from making promises I can’t keep.

Thought I’d share the story with you to cheer you up in case all your resolutions are already in shards around your ankles.

What happened?

My 9 yr old son was really looking forward to setting off all his fire crackers with his friends.
I suggested he sleep a few hours and promised to wake him at midnight. He absolutely refused. Then 30 min before count down he crept away and quietly curled up in a corner in deep hibernate mode. Come midnight I tried everything to wake him but he was out cold. Eventually I gave up and just let him be. Wrong! I’d forgotten something really important. I’d forgotten I’d promised to wake him. Doing your best just isn’t good enough in this instance. After all, a promise is a promise.

When Jules eventually woke up he was furious and I was in serious pooh. Even worse, I totally deserved it. I hadn’t thought this through at all. I felt like I’d betrayed him deeply. That I was untrustworthy; the worst mother in the whole world. How could I have been so thoughtless? If I knew what I know now I would have poured a bucket of cold water over his head. Anything, to keep my word.

But the deed was done. I couldn’t turn back the clock.

So, how to make amends?
I told him he was right. I had made a terrible mistake and because of this we would change our plans and spend the day doing anything he liked.

Result?

We spent the morning at Alpemari, an outrageously expensive water world about half an hour from Zürich.
There are all these really scary slides, with names like cobra, thriller and tornado and
Jules’s all time favourite, the Balla Balla. This one sends you hurtling down a pitch dark tube, with flashes of lightening and then it takes you out into the freezing outdoors to get snowed on before dropping you again down another terrifying twister.

Licence to scream as much as you like. Scream out all your frustrations of the past year. A healing, purifying, cleansing process. Better than confession any day.
Finally your limp body gets spat out into a tepid pool at the foot of a zillion steps so you can climb back up again and do it all again.

So, now I have made my confession to you too. (Took me 5 days to own up!) This is how I did my penance. 10 slides, at least 2 times each with step training in between. It was a bit like counting beads on a rosary. Bless me for I have sinned!

Fortunately there was also a hot saline external bath and the end to sooth the weary muscles and bruised bones of this recovering sinner.

Moral of the story?
Don’t make promises to your kid unless you can keep them.

You don’t have any kids?

Sure you do. Everyone has an inner kid. And rumour has it that this is the most neglected kid on the block.
Have you made promises to yourself, esp your inner kid, that you can’t (or don’t really intend to) keep?
This is a sure fire way to shoot yourself in the foot.

This is my new year resolution:
To give myself a break and not make any promises unless they align with my own well being and I absolutely can keep them.

Watch out for my free report ‘ 6 ways to embrace yourself in 2009’ arriving in your mailbox on Jan 7th if you're subscribed to my newsletter.

Oh my gosh, what HAVE I promised!

Are you from the moon? (join us there today)

The other day a friend sent me a postcard that said:

To: Jena Griffiths
Address: The moon!

Next time I saw her I thanked her and said it was the first time anyone had ever got my address right!

Why am I so proud of this?

The moon is a very special part of your hand.
It represents the deep, largely unconscious side of you.
It’s also the seat of your sacred, spiritual side and source of imagination.

Here’s an easy way to understand this:
Hold up a hand and wiggle your thumb around.

Your thumb represents your will power.

Now try to touch the rest of your palm
and fingers of the same hand with your thumb.

Where can’t you touch?

The part of your palm that your thumb can’t touch is
called your moon. This is the part of you that your willpower can’t
reach.

Richard Unger, the person who taught me this,
calls the moon ‘your cellar’. Quite apt, because it’s
the bottom outer edge of the palm.

Are you a moon person?

Moon people are on this planet but not of it. They’re listening to a different drummer.
They’re the shamans, the clairvoyants, the spiritual teachers and the life coaches.

We’ll be going to the moon in today’s mastermind call.
Are you coming with us?

Time: 3.30pm Eastern, 12.30 noon Pacific, 9.30pm Switzerland and central Europe, 8.30 pm SA and UK. The call will be recorded if you can'tmake it live.

Do you have a solution brain?

If your headline curves up towards your index finger this means you have a solution brain.

How do you work this out?

There is a particular type of energy that runs up through the palm and out of each finger. This is best described as archetypal energy:

A different type of archetypal energy runs through each finger. The energy that runs up though the index finger is related to the Jupiter archetype.

This is to do with power and influence, and how this manifests: ge. vision, status, territory, standing one's ground, ambition, respect and so on. Excess or lack of these particular qualities show up in different ways in the area below this finger or on it.

Think about it a moment. What signs do you make with your index finger?

You can point, wag or shake it at someone, pull a trigger, or indicate someone to come in your direction.

This energy influences all lines in this area and the plumpness of the finger zones.

So, when this energy pulls the headline up, this is the kind of brain one would expect in leaders. An ability to quickly find a solution to any problem.

Why is it good to know if you have this marker?
If you have a solution brain and you're not using it enough in your work, you're in danger of giving unsolicited advice. This causes disconnect, particularly with family and close friends. They may even get angry with you for interferring even though from your point of view your ideas really help solve the problem.

Learn to only give advice when it's asked for and always start from a place of common ground. Something you agree on. This way people will be more willing to listen to your ideas.

hand analysis tip: curvy equals emotional

In handspeak, curvy equals emotional.

A curvy heart line means an emotional communication style.
A curvy headline means an emotional thinking style.
A curvy attack line means there is lots of emotion invested in whatever issue is under attack.
A curvy thumb shape means your decisions are based on emotion.

How does this help you?

Knowing this stuff helps you to be more conscious and make more conscious decisions.
This is how one flips the switch between heaven and hell.

Heaven is when the lights are on, hell is when one is stumbling around bumping into painful experiences, or treading on other people's toes unwittingly.

Here's an example:
If you have a curvy head line this indicates a subjective thinking style. The more curved this (or any) line gets the more emotion involved.

But what does this actually mean?

As with everything related to hands, there's a positive and a negative side.
On the positive side, having a subjective brain means you'll be more empathetic, you can see the other side so you'll give the other person the benefit of the doubt, maybe even if they're busy robbing your house!

The negative side?
Having a subjective brain means you have a tendency to always take things personally.
Here's an example:

So, how to flip the switch?

Try not to take anything that anyone else says or does personally. Easier said than done but the key is to watch yourself in process. When you start getting upset about anything stop a moment. Ask yourself is this really true? How can I be sure? How does this thought make me feel? How would I feel without this thought? Then turn the thought around. Where's the mirror? In what way am I doing this to myself?

These 4 questions come from Byron Katie's 'Loving what is'.
A powerful way to flip the switch from hell back to heaven.

Are you a multi-tasker? The HAL headline giftmarker

If you have a long straight headline that goes almost
to the edge of your palm but not over it, you're built better than
the rest of us for multi-tasking. Still it doesn't mean
this good for you!
(See my newsletter or blog on the dangers of multitasking titled:
Are you trying to cook this and read your dinner at the same time? )

What is a HAL headline?

This is a gift marker first identified by Richard Unger of the International Institute of Hand Analysis.

Unger named this headline after Hal 9000, the super computer in the movie, “2001:
A Space Odyssey”.

This marker indicates special multi-tasking capabilities, an octopus-like brain: Analytical, data collecting and very resourceful.

If this is you, you need a big, complex job to keep your brain busy . Like the computer called HAL, you need many problem solving situations and lots of mental stimulation to to stay happy, otherwise boredom kicks in and you risk self destructing.

Most people under 42 who have this marker are still in the "shadow side" of this gift marker: under employment leads to boredom and dissatisfaction which in turn leads to creating tangled webs in relationships to keep your mind occupied.

* What to do if you have this marker?

* Learn to trust your brain’s enormous capacity and your unique problem solving
powers.
* Don’t underplay, underestimate or under utilize this capacity or your need for
stimulation.
* Don’t try to lessen yourself to keep others happy. In the end your unhappiness
will affect everyone around you.
* Use your gift or risk self destructing by creating problems that don’t exist.

Is your nose right after all?

A friend of mine has a really special nose.
I swear she must have stolen it from
the sphinx. It's as broad as it is long
and it looks just like a pyramid.
Full of secrets and with an energy of its own.

It doesn't just sit there like other noses
frozen in the spotlight.
Instead, it expresses itself.

How so?

It flares up and butts in
just when you least expect it to.
And, on those rare occasions when it stands
firm, that's when it really makes a point.

Why?
Because this is how it reveals thoughts
that run in flagrant opposition to whatever
its owner is actually saying at the time.

So, when I'm not sure who to believe,
I always go with the nose!

The sad thing about this masterpiece is that its
owner thinks it needs fixing.

Why?
It's not the airbrushed variety one sees gracing
the glossies.

Why am I telling you this?

The other day I read this amazing quote:

“We only need to heal until we realize that we have
been just fine all along...
As soon as we say, 'I'm done fixing myself!'
Then we can really get on with things, forgetting the healing,
and beginning the revealing.” ~ Robin Rice ~

Fact is, there really is nothing wrong with you, or any part of you.
You are not flawed. There's nothing to fix but plenty to discover.

If you'd like to listen to a healing meditation by Rice
on this topic go here:
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-8462566328774653175

We get taught at a really early age to
focus on what's wrong with us, rather than what's right.
And it's not just our physical bodies under attack.

We 're progressively conditioned to feel smaller than
who we really are, inadequate and incomplete.

You can tell when children have had this lesson one
time too often, because that's when the light goes right
out of their eyes.

It's a kind of ripening process. Or rather a rotting.
You're ripe for the picking as soon as the rot sets in.

Why?

Because suddenly you're ripe for marketers to
sell you anything that might fix you. A myriad
magic potions and other recipes for completion.

Buy this and you'll be ok. Rub this cream on
your nose and you'll be loved.
Or maybe only a bright red Ferrari will do the trick?

Actually it's not your nose you need to fix
but your focus.

And your ability to really see yourself clearly in all your
magnificence.

You are a beautiful being. Perfect just as you are.
And far more wonderful than you imagine.

This is something you already know deep down in
your heart of hearts.

So how can you shift your focus?

Start listening to your nose more closely.

Acknowledge yourself where others don't.

Also, be nosy about yourself in a positive way.

Stick your nose into all your own business
and catch yourself each time you do something right
rather than something wrong. And give yourself
enough pleasure to make your nose flare each time,
no matter how small the act may seem.

Success is a process, not a destination.
And every step in the right direction deserves applause.

One of the best ways to acknowledge yourself is to get
your hands analysed.

Your hands show you what's right with you.

Your incredible potential. Your gifts, strengths or talents
and what you have to do to bring your higher
possibilities into the sunshine.

To treat yourself to a profound self awakening experience,
go here:
http://handanalysisonline.com/consultation.php

And as for your nose?
Trust it and follow it.
And allow it to shine more often.
It's magnificent and it nose it.
(sorry, couldn't resist!)
; )

hugs,
Jena

Hand Analysis at the Expat Expo

I was at the Expat Expo most of Sunday, reading hands and meeting wonderful new people from all walks of life . Luckily it was a rainy day so good to be indoors.

My table was wedged in between Avatar and a group of healers, herbalists and coaches from Wangen, a car-free village up in the mountains above Interlaken. Planet yoga was two down and also practitioners of the Gringerg method. A fascinating technique I've never heard of before.

It was a wonderful atmosphere, with everyone learning about each others' therapies and sharing their knowledge and sometimes sampling techniques. Amazing how everything is so interconnected. Some start with feet, others with spine or hands, but the journey always goes in the same direction.

I also discovered the Pie Shop! Pies are something lacking in Switzerland. The Swiss haven't yet realized quite what they're missing. Needless to say, they did a roaring trade among all the expats present.

Hand analysis class on Mercury markers this Sunday

I'm back in Switzerland. Trying to catch up on the backlog.

I had a hectic time in Cape Town with courses, back to back consultations
at Welgelegen guest house, and attempts to catch up with friends in between. I've forgotten how much I love this city and its people. It really has something magnetic and magical about it.

Thanks to Fiona Evans and all her staff at Welgelegen for making me feel so welcome and at home. Thanks also to Cath for so generously giving me the use of her therapy room.

If you ever plan on visiting Cape Town I highly recommend this wonderful boutique hotel right in the center of Cape Town at the foot of Table Mountain.

The Noordhoek workshop went well too. I was blessed with wonderful group of students who were a pleasure to teach. I'll be posting pictures in the near future. Thanks to Anthea Torr for the generous use of her beautiful home in De Goede Hoop estate.

Next online class.

This month we'll be having two mastermind calls to make up for the one missed last month while I was in S. Africa.

August Mastermind 1. Sunday 24 August 2008 at 6pm central Europe,
6pm South Africa, 12 noon US Eastern, 9am Pacific.

Topic: Are you quick sharp and clever? How Mercury shows up in your hands.

If you are a healer, writer, speaker or woman with a message this class is specially for you.
If you have problems speaking up for yourself or relationship issues, you'll also find this class really useful. We'll be looking at the Mercury (pinkie) finger and all markers related to or under this finger.
To join this class sign in here

August Mastermind 2: Wednesday 27 August 2008 at 9pm central Europe,
9pm South Africa, 3pm US Eastern, 12 noon Pacific.

Topic: Are you giving your power away without even realising it?
During this call we'll be looking at several power give away markers in hands, what they mean and what you can do if you're experiencing one of these situations.
Do you have trouble saying 'no'?
Are you stuck in someone else's movie?
Are you in your current relationship because you feel sorry for your partner?
Are you carrying a burden for your family?
Are you unsure what you really want?
These are just a few of the examples we'll be looking at in this class.

To join both these classes for only $19 sign in here

See you on the call.

My stay in the wonderful bushveld is drawing to a close.
My son and I have just had a fantastic game drive at Tsukudu game reserve,
right up to elephant and other game.
Jules was delighted because he got to stroke a tame cheetah.

On Saturday at 2pm I'll be giving a free half hour talk at Welgelegen guest house in Gardens. www.welgelegen.co.za
After the talk I'll be doing mini readings. If you'd like to attend please contact

mastermind class postponed until I'm back in Switzeralnd

I'm in darkest africa in a place beyond broadband and even cellphones.

I've been exploring all the facilities in the region to see how I could do this month's mastermind class.
I've finally had to come to terms with the fact that it's just not going to be physically possible
so I'm going to relax instead and enjoy being here!

We have giraffe, duiker, kudu and warthog in our garden, eating my mother's
precious lawn and bouganvillia. My mother's garden pests!!

I'll be back in Switzerland from the 18 Aug.

We'll do 2 classes next month to make up for this one.

Are you a boy or a girl?

When I was 16 my sister tried to turn me into a girl.

How?

She sat on top me and, ignoring my screams and pleas, plucked at the thick wild hedge that ran unbroken across my face, more or less where my eyes should be. She was merciless and didn’t give up until she’d tamed it into twin arches, each swooping dramatically above an eye. (They looked a bit like a flattened version of the McDonald’s logo.)

She also shaved my legs.

I felt raped and abused but at the same time curious about this new being peering out at me from the mirror. Who was she? How could someone be transformed so utterly and radically by the removal of a few hairs?

This was my first experience of shape shifting.

Suddenly boys looked at me differently. I wasn't on the same side any more.
This was the start of a disco bopping period for me where a young girl could easily tag along with her 18 and 20 year old sisters. By 17 I was cured. I’d witnessed the devastating effect of drugs, sex and alcohol simply by watching the trajectory of some of my sisters’ friends.

I turned into a book worm and joined the Women’s Lib movement on campus.

Having no bra to burn, I rebelled against my sister and society by growing back my eyebrows and leg hair.

Once during this period, someone’s 8 year old son checked me out for some time, his eyes flitting backwards and forwards between my face and legs. Eventually he gave up and simply asked: Are you a boy or a girl?

I acted nonchalant, but that very night went back to shaving my legs. How could an 8yr old boy whip me into line when even professors had failed?

Something similar happened in Vanuatu, years later. We were on the island of Tanna visiting a village on the slopes of an active volcano.

Our guide was a tall, exquisitely built ebony black man, dressed in nothing but a plaited banana leaf wrapped snugly round his penis (colloquially called a ‘numba’).
He looked me up and down (I was probably in shorts again). Then he dropped his bombshell:

‘How many chillun you gat?’

When I answered none, he sucked this information through his teeth, spat out the lump of kava root he’d been chewing all day and suddenly lost all interest in me. As a childless woman, I’d just been relegated to the rubbish dump of his society.

I swear my son Jules is all this man’s in a numba’s fault. He planted a seed in my brain that simply wasn’t there before. (Maybe I’ll go back to Vanuatu one day and claim alimony!)

Jokes aside, social contempt is a deadly weapon. If you did a head count you’d find it responsible for far more devastation than the atom bomb.

What has all this to do with your hands?

Changing or stopping yourself because of what others say or think shows up in different ways in your hands.

If you’re completely out of your own movie you’ll have a co-dependency line.
If you’re blocking yourself through concern about what others might think, you’ll probably have one or more Apollo attack lines.
To see what some of these markers look like go here:
http://www.handanalysisonline.com/attacklinesvisual.php
(If you’d like to learn more about these lines, get my class on this topic here. http://www.handanalysisonline.com/previousclasses.php)

Several markers under the ring finger are related to reputation fears. My Apollo class, discusses the differences between these various markers. Purchase it here http://www.handanalysisonline.com/previousclasses.php

If you have a star like formation on the end of your headline this is called desire pollution. When this marker shows up it indicates that you can’t tell your genuine wants from other people’s wishes for you. To see what this marker looks like, go here. http://www.handanalysisonline.com/desire_pollution.php

The best way to figure out what your real wants are is to get clear on what you really value in life. If your wants clash with your values, chances are they are not your wants but someone else’s.

If you’re not sure what your primary values are, here’s a list to get you started.

Are you putting the cart before the horse?

God has been washing cows virtually non-stop in Switzerland for several days now. They're all squeaky clean again and they've been given their bells back.

Which is probably why you haven't heard that much from me recently - my brain is busy being re-tuned for summer.

Offline I've been exploring topics related to deep democracy and how to get all your sub personalities pulling in the same direction.

Actually what has really been going on is that each of my sub personalities has been trying to write this article all on its own, from his or her very own point of view, so I've got several different drafts going on with apparently no common thread.

I guess the main issue is cows and carts and how we humans often have these things back to front without realizing it. And how this explains why sometimes the cart doesn't depart even under severe pressure.

I think the person who understood cows and the universe more than anyone else on this planet was Gary Larson. My favorite GL cartoon of all time is the one of a cow couple in their living room.

Do you know it?

The 'husband' cow is sitting in front of the TV nursing a beer. The 'wife' has a string of pearls around her neck and is standing, gazing longingly out the window. They obviously have a very cozy home with all the usual trimmings. But she has just said to him: 'Harold, I am not content!'
Naturally the poor fellow has a look of perplexed horror on his face.

I think this cartoon pretty much sums up life on this planet for we humans. We think we'll be happy once we have x or y or z. And then when we actually get it, oops, maybe this wasn't what we really wanted after all because we still feel the same.

Luckily we have a few wise souls around who've apparently achieved total detachment. What this actually means is that they finally had enough of all the pushing and shoving to stand back at last and take in the whole scenario from a distance.

From where they're standing it's pretty obvious we've got things back to front in more ways than one. This is what they've been trying to tell us all these years but most of us just won't have it.

So how have we got the cart before the cow?

Here are 5 ways I know of. Each can stop your cart dead in its track unless you turn the whole thing the other way round.

The first is to do with making happiness conditional. We think we first have to do something/succeed (get a divorce, whatever) then we can be happy. Actually it's the other way round. Happiness precedes success. You can be happy right now instead of first waiting for the cows to come home. And more likely it will cause them to want to come home because they'll sense your good vibes.

It's hard to admit that we have total choice over our emotions. All we actually have to do to change how we are feeling is make another choice.

I remember the first time this dawned on me. It was about a zillion years ago when I was a young student sitting in the library cramming for an exam in abnormal psychology. The more cases I read the more depressed I got. I was pretty sure I had every single one of those terrible mental conditions described in the textbook, including a simple personality! Eventually I could take it no more and I went off to drown my sorrows in the student canteen. At the entrance there was a photo display of a squatter camp in Cape Town called Crossroads. I was absolutely shocked by the photos. Not because of the squalor or poverty but because everyone looked so happy! These beautiful black and white photos of joyous smiling faces on people who owned absolutely nothing cured me in a flash of about 100 different conditions of schizophrenia, psychosis, various manias etc. I was deeply humbled and grateful at the same time. There was nothing wrong with me or my life whatsoever and I chose to be happy instead of sad from that moment on, just like the beautiful people in the photos. Byron Katie's book: Loving What Is, is a good resource for this technique.

Something similar is putting your whole life on hold until X or Y happens. The next time you blink you're in a rocking chair wishing you'd lived your life instead of just intending to.

Thirdly, is the idea 'seeing is believing'. Apparently we have this completely back to front and even scientists, whose credibility hangs on this premise, are beginning to come round to the possibility that actually the opposite is true: believing is seeing.

Fourthly, is the idea that making mistakes should be avoided. We think we need to be perfect before we get the show on the road. In fact it's the other way round, practice makes perfect. You can't improve without feedback and you can't get feedback without practice.

Number 5 is the one that really blows my mind. This is called Ho'oponopono. Basically what it means is that whatever your husband says or does (or even thinks!) really is totally and absolutely all your fault!! Well, I'm kidding, and I'm not. Ho'oponopono is the Hawaiian code of forgiveness.

Have you ever heard of a guy from Hawaii called Dr Len? Apparently he cured a whole ward full of dangerous criminals just by working on himself, deciding what part of himself each of these criminals was reflecting and saying 'I love you I am sorry.' You can read more about this here.

Everything that shows up in your life is a fragment of you. The more you change in the inside the more this is reflected in the world and people around you.

I think the best way to understand this whole situation is to think of a hall full of mirrors. If you don't show up yourself, the hall will be empty.

As soon as you reach out, then so does the whole hall/ world that surrounds you.

Cart before cow? We usually think it works the other way around. If someone else loves and supports me then I will to.

How can hands help with making your cart go forwards?

Your hands are the interface between you and the world. Think of them as your rear view mirrors. If you can see a cow in them you're facing the wrong way (only kidding!) Your hands are mirrors and they can show you when you're busy putting your lipstick on your eyebrow instead of slightly lower down.

Now why didn't you tell me sooner it was a horse's behind I should be looking at and not a cow's? Don't tell me this is all my fault! I already know it!
; )

Hand analysis tip:

What do wrong way round carts look like on hands?

They look just like little carts but from an aerial perspective.
If you have a box on your heart line under the middle finger
this means you feel like you're in a logistic logjam,
boxed in by the details of your every life.
If you have cross hatching inside this box then the situation is much more extreme. Time to have your hands read!

Diamonds are NOT a girl's best friend (FREE hand analysis teleclass Wednesday, 21st May.)

Diamonds are great to have, but not when it comes to markers in your hand.

Unlike stars, diamonds are line formations you really don't want to have in your hands.

Why not?

Because usually they mean frozen energy of one sort or another. What they mean exactly depends on where they show up in your hands.

Diamonds under your middle finger (Saturn) are quite rare. If you've got this marker in your hand you'll be keen to get rid of it because it mean frozen assets.

This is a marker that forms when you your money reserves or property is chronically blocked. At a deeper level; it has to do with blocked inner assets. Hands are a perfect reflection of how one's outer world reflects one's inner reality. This is a great example. Saturn diamonds indicate that you have talents and gifts that you are not conscious of that can't be utilized until you start paying attention to other markers in your hands. We'll be discussing this marker and several others related to Saturn in tomorrow's mastermind class.

The next mastermind class - you're invited!

Tomorrow's next mastermind class is Wednesday, 21 May, 2008 at 9pm Swiss and South African time. (12 noon Pacific, 3pm Eastern.)

You're invited to attend just this once, free of charge.

We'll be looking at all the ways Saturn energy shows up in your hands.

This gory painting by Goya is my favorite image of Saturn, also known as Chronis, the god of time who ate his children.
Saturn does this sort of thing if you don't pay attention to him!

Saturn is a hard task master. He's all about time, detail, money responsibility and contracts.
He's a master teacher and he specializes in issues related to self worth, value, integrity and guilt. We'll be looking at your middle finger, the lines and other markers that show up under this finger and what they mean specifically.

We'll be looking at the connection between self worth and integrity and also how your hands reveal what ingredients are missing or where you need to focus more to keep Saturn from gobbling you up.

If you'd like to listen in to this class you can register at the bottom of the member's page for free. Once you register you'll be given the link to the webcast page where you can listen in live or to the replay after the call. You'll be amazed what you can learn about yourself in so short a space of time! If you don't wish to stay in the group simply unsubscribe yourself straight after the call.

Can you do cartwheels?

Jules is on the trampoline practicing his somersaults. It's been
a long process getting to where he is now. His aim is to land on
his feet after each somersault. These days he does
occasionally get it right but, more often than not, he lands
flat on his bottom.

Does this faze him? No! Almost before he lands, he's up again,
ready for another attempt.

Watching him makes me think about us adults. How many of us
actually allow ourselves the luxury of so much trial and error?
We all know practice, practice, practice makes perfect. But
somehow most of us try to skip the icky middle part of the
sandwich.

Why?
We judge each botched attempt as 'failure' rather than what it
really is. Just another attempt. If only we could learn to
praise, even celebrate ourselves, just for being out there
trying, we would change our results dramatically.

The other thing that trips us up is we think we have an
audience. Usually a whole tribe, with bones through their noses,
baying for our blood or waiting for a good excuse to laugh up
their sleeves. This is an illusion!

Maybe the only way around this is to play with the illusion.
Visualise your whole tribe, bones and all. And see them cheering
and pounding drums every time you stand up for another attempt.

Paul Scheele, father of photoReading did an interesting
experiment once to demonstrate how we learn. He got 2 people to
undertake the same task in front of a large audience.

One got an alarm each time he did something wrong. The other got
an alarm each time she did something right. The difference in
results was astonishing. The one froze after a while and eventually and gave up. The other achieved the goal in practically no time at all and walked away feeling like a queen!

The question is, can we adjust our own inner alarms so that they
don't blast us out the water every time we dare to actually
practice? Can you reward yourself for trying, rather than beat
yourself up for not getting it perfect each and every time?

Back to cartwheels.

Ever since I watched a dear friend do cartwheels across the road
at a cycle race I've secretly wanted to do them too. They seem
such a fun, playful way to express
being-alive-and-well-and-happy-to-be-on-this-planet-in-this-
particular-body-at-this-particular-moment-in-time.
That was 20 years ago and still I can't do cartwheels!

Why not?
Fear of falling. Fear of looking like a fool while falling.
And stalling: putting things off til tomorrow!

So, what to do?

There are 2 healthy choices and one unhealthy one.
The healthy choices are: Either give up on the dream and make
peace with this or actually walk through these fears to the
other side.

The unhealthy choice? Keep saying: next year I'll do it!

Why is this unhealthy? Because every time you promise yourself
something and don't carry through, you're training yourself in
failure. Do this often enough and it becomes a habit that'll put
your life on autopilot in exactly the wrong direction.

Okay then, cartwheels here I come!
Yiiiiiiii, what have I said?

Once this choice is made, how does one actually walk through the flames?

Nothing beats finding a helping hand. Someone you trust like a
big safe cushion. Who'll keep applauding every fluffed attempt.

That's another area we slip up. Even if we know someone like
this, we're often too shy to ask them for help. We simply don't
realise that most people would feel honoured rather than put
out.

So?
I've enlisted my son Jules as my trainer! He's already moved me
from straight rolls to knee flips. His reward? He gets to crack
the whip and mama jumps! But, what if he laughs?
I'll simply have to read this as affection!

Before I could finish writing this, we had a big storm and
Jules's trampoline did a few cartwheels all on its own. Luckily
Jules wasn't on it or he could have ended up like Dorothy, in
another land altogether. It needs repair but there's an upside:
it was on a slope and, until now, he could only really
use half of it. Now there really is no excuse not to dig out the
entire area underneath it or reinstall it in a better place.

Good luck with your own cartwheels this week,
in whatever field you care to make them.

If you're feeling shaky, think of me and my 9 year old
sadist..Yiiiiiiiiii!!, thank God for wind! ;-)

Jena

PS: If you'd like to improve the cartwheels in your life,
the first step is to figure out what pattern they follow.

You can do this through hand analysis.

Are you a genius? Or a gifted writer?

If you’ve got three little vertical lines on your upper pinkie
on either hand these are called ‘lines of genius’.

Some days I look at my hand and get all excited to see them,
other days they disappear completely!

So?
I’m thinking of just tattooing them in permanently.
At least then I’ll have one less thing to fret about!

Actually lines of genius have nothing to do with
being a genius. This is a gift marker that indicates a special
ability for mass communication.

If you have this marker and you’re not using it, you’ll know all
about it.

Why?
Because, if you’re not using this awesome talent, the shadow side
kicks in.

And what is the shadow side of this marker?
Going round in circles, one foot on the gas, the other on the
brake.

The solution?
There’s only one: Just do it! Start writing or public speaking today.

To find out more about this marker and other extra potential
markers in your hands, download the book here:
http://www.handanalysisonline.com/giftmarkerbook.php

Let’s go back to my original question:
Are you a genius?

If you answered ‘no’ you are dead wrong.
Every human being is a genius; unfortunately we’ve just had this
knowledge knocked out of us at an early age. Usually by grade 1 teachers
who tried their damnedest to convince us of the opposite.

Each of us has equal access to source/the universal infinite
mind. All we have to do is learn to open the tap.

The way to do this is by quietening one’s mind.

If you’re anything like me, this is a lot easier said than done!
There are lots of ways to do this, active or passive. One simple
way is to count backwards from 50 focusing on your breath.
Counting on each breath.

Here’s an excellent affirmation from John Demartini.
Something he recommends you say to yourself every morning as you
wake up, and get your children to say:

‘I’m a genius and I apply my wisdom!’

Hey, let’s try it!
It costs nothing and well, I can’t see any disadvantages.

Happy tap dancing,
Jena

Is your life in danger of being hijacked?

In some countries there is a very real danger of being hijacked
and having your car stolen. In other countries it’s your biggest
dreams that get taken, right from under your nose.

I’m not sure which is worse. A gun squeezed against your temple
for your car keys, or a dream squeezed out of you at an early
age.

In Switzerland, more than any other country, the risks of having
your car keys taken are virtually nil. I’ve left my keys in the
ignition for years and I can’t seem to tempt anyone! (But then
maybe this is a reflection of my car rather than the country!)
:)
Still, dream hijacking is huge. And just because you can’t see
the violence, doesn’t mean it isn’t there.

So, how do dreams get hijacked?

Have you ever watched a frigate bird in action?

This is a big black sea bird. Frigates are the pirates of the
bird world.
They even look like pirates! These birds hover up high waiting
for other seabirds to catch a fish.
As soon as they spot one with a full beak they dive bomb. The
poor gull gets such a fright they drop their dinner and the
frigate scoops up the bounty without missing a wing beat.

Something similar happens in the human world. It’s called shame
and humiliation. Children are most vulnerable to being shamed or
humiliated. So are people who haven’t really examined who they
are and what they stand for. You get bumped and whoops. Next
minute you’re on another track, and your life feels empty.

How does this work?

Something happens to cause you to feel deeply shamed. (You get
dive-bombed) This is an unbearable feeling and often the only
solution is to simply numb out. The more you numb out, the more
you lose touch with your core desires. (You drop your fish, the
one thing that feeds you.) This then causes you to numb out even
more. You’re no longer connected to your feelings. Now anything
can happen. You have no boundaries, maybe even no respect. You
become putty in anyone’s hands, easily molded. This causes even
more numbness and eventually (if you’re lucky!) anger or
depression.

Why lucky? Well then you know something’s wrong and you can fix
it.

This sounds extreme and it can be, especially in cases of sexual
violation. But what about shaming as a form of social control,
by teachers or over-authoritarian parents? We get trained to
tow the line, conform, be responsible and quit dreaming. So we
put our deepest dreams on hold, often for an entire lifetime.
Sometimes the only way to cope with this violation is to numb
out completely to your heart’s calling. We become numb to our
own feelings and deep passions. Sometimes this numbness is so
deep and has lasted so long we don’t even know it exists!

So, what can we do?
We can find out who we really are and what we really want. A
very good way to do this is through hand analysis.
http://www.handanalysisonline.com/consultation.php

Also, ask yourself: who really is steering my life?

If you don’t choose what you want to do with every minute of
your life, someone else will do this for you!

Look back at your last week, last month, last year.
To what extent did you do what you really wanted or was it
someone else’s idea?

Sometimes we think we are steering but actually we aren’t!

How so?

We are creatures of habit and habitual thinking. Most of our
habits come from our parents or early teachers.
As Bob Proctor says: “You are the product of someone else’s
habitual way of thinking.”

To what extent are you conscious of the habits and belief
systems controlling your life? To what extent are you making
decisions based on faulty thinking inherited from your family:
generational fear, ignorance, stories told over and over? We
can’t change what we are not aware of.

The good news?
You can change any habit or belief you like. It takes only 21
days of willpower and then the new habit/belief becomes
automatic and runs on autopilot.
The problem is, we often don’t know what faulty thinking is
running our lives. If you don’t know what to change, you can’t
change it!

Questions I ask myself: what are the secondary benefits to
staying blocked? What am I currently getting out of not moving
forward?

To what extent are you aware of the choices you make and your
core values?
And to what extent are you in touch with your deepest heart’s
desire: Your soul’s calling?

Are you being blocked from living your passions by faulty family
thinking? Or are you being blocked by shame?

The more you explore what’s really blocking you, and what you
value, the freer you become to live the life of your dreams.

The way I see it, here are 4 steps: 1. Explore who you are (hand analysis)
2. Explore what you really want. Are your wants really your
wants?
3. Explore what you stand for (your values)
4. Figure out what’s blocking you.

Why know your values? Because if you know what you stand for you
can’t get bumped/humiliated.
Also, if your wants clash with your values then they are probably
not your wants but someone else’s.

Here’s a small example from my life. The other day I went to
visit a friend and I took a video with me of my son ‘practicing’
his violin. I thought the video was rather funny but my friend
was horrified. There he was, strumming this delicate precious
instrument singing, ‘I’ve got a little guitar, oh yeah!’
Actually she was more than horrified. It was painful for her to
even look at the video and she chastised me for allowing it.
If I didn’t have a clear idea of what my values are, that I
value creative expression over material object, I may have felt
deeply shamed and would have started tightening up on Jules in
ways that don’t align with my heart.

But let’s push this to the extreme. What if he stomps on his
violin and sets fire to it like Jimmy Hendrix?
I’ll probably just strangle him! He can do that when he’s a
virtuoso and bought the thing himself.
Yes, Jules does have to learn to respect and care for his
instrument and, as his mother, this is my responsibility to
teach. But I believe he also has to be free to experiment.
Where to draw the line? There are no right and wrong answers
here. It is just a question of values and why you need to be
completely clear about what you personally treasure most.

What do you value most in life? Freedom or security? Beauty or
creative expression? Family or independence? Pure air or owing a
car? Once you know what you stand for you cannot be shifted off
course by other people. You cannot be shamed. You will be less
likely to drop your fish when a frigate dive-bombs you. You’re
prepared! You’ve thought about the subject and made a conscious,
rather than unconscious choice.

Back to blocked passions and finding out what yours are. There’s
Hand analysis for showing you where you are blocked. And there’s
David Neagle for helping you leapfrog over faulty family
thinking.

How do blocked passions show up in hands?

This issue can show up in the fingerprints or in the lines.
If it shows up in the fingerprints, this is a major issue in
your life.
How does it show up in fingerprints? The lowest ranked
fingerprint is on left index finger.
And in Lines? Look for a combination of these:
An attack line to the Pluto area (anger from
thwarted ambitions) or career line
An attack line to Saturn (a depression indicator)
An index finger that bends away from the thumb (a power giveaway
marker)
A heart line that has fork down into the Mars area (can’t say
no)
A co-dependency line (not in own movie)
A career line that starts inside the lifeline (parent’s chose
career)
Bubbles, Grills, diamonds or boxes under the middle finger or on
the headline (indecision etc related to career)
A bubble on the bottom of the lifeline (a burden of family
expectations).
These just some of many examples.

they can help you to better understand yourself and others,

How rats can change your fortune.

Just when I thought all the hullabaloo of New Year was over
along comes Marie Diamond (Feng shui guru of gurus) with the reminder that 7 February is New Year according to the Chinese scheme of things.

You might think, I’m not Chinese! What has this got to do with me? !
A lot actually because this calendar is tied in to energetic moon cycles that affect the entire planet. This is not a hard and fast fixed date like our New Year is, but varies from year to year.

The first time I really took notice of this calendar was when my son was born 9 years ago in Phuket. His Thai birth certificate says he was born in the year 2542! (year of the rabbit).
They count the years from Buddha not Christ).

Funnily enough he was born on Easter Sunday, which is one of the few days on our calendar that ‘floats’ the way the Chinese NY does. (Also, being year of the rabbit, he really is the Easter Bunny!)

The other day I overheard him talking to friends. He told them, although we celebrate his birthday on 4 April, his real birthday is the 8th!

I chipped in with, ‘Huh…..???? How do you work that out?’ and he said, ‘Well, I was born on Easter Sunday and Easter Sunday was the 8th!

This started me off on a rather convoluted explanation of how Easter Sunday is different every year and when he was born it just happened to be on the 4th. In response, he very quickly pointed out how lucky he was having 2 birthdays every year instead of just one like everyone else!

We’re not all as lucky as Jules to have two birthdays a year, but we can all enjoy two New Years quite legitimately if we’re willing to embrace the opportunity.

So, if you’ve already blown your New Year’s resolutions, here’s your second chance! Tell everyone you work according to the Chinese calendar, which is far more ‘in tune’ with your inner needs!

What has this got to do with luck, let alone hand analysis?

We each have 3 kinds of luck. One third is Heaven luck, one third Human luck and one third Earth luck.

Heaven luck has to do with everything you were born into. The day and place you were born, your gender, the family you were born into etc. For a hand analysis point of view, your dermatoglyphics (fingerprint pattern) is part of your heaven luck.

Why? Your fingerprints show your highest and lowest energy before you were born (from a family DNA point of view or a karmic wound point of view depending on what you believe). This is the part of you that needs to be grown. The real reason why you are on this planet.

Your hands also show your Human luck: Your talents, temperament and other personality resources and how you can best use those resources.

Earth luck is not visible in your hands. But you can use your hands to change Earth luck more easily than the other two lucks.

How? By consciously manipulating your environment, adding, removing or moving objects that cause either beneficial or harmful energies into your surroundings. This can be obvious, like electro smoke or radioactive material or subtler, like Feng shui activators. You can also use your hands to improve the energy around you with intention.

So, how can you hop into the Chinese NY on the right foot?

Between now and the 7th Feb, change your doormats for a fresh start. Activate various Feng shui stars if you are into that sort of thing. For example, bring abundance in your life by putting a long pointy quartz crystal in the East part of your home.

And what’s with the Rat?

Marie Diamond’s advice:
“To bring the support of the Earth Rat year into your life, place a small (two to three inches) quartz crystal or a yellow or gold stone such as amber in the North area of your living room or workplace. Look for one that has a long shape so it resembles the shape of a little mouse. If your Chinese astrological animal is the Rat, or if you are the Rat’s ally or secret friend (Dragon, Monkey, and Ox), place an image or object of a mouse or rat instead of the crystal. For children this can even be a cartoon image if preferred.”

So, to risk being told I’m repeating myself…..Happy New Year!!!
; ))

Stop. Breathe. Smile!

Yesterday I interviewed Taoist teacher Casey Kochmer on the 'art of being'.

Casey shared some really useful tips about dealing with stress, living in the now and bringing harmony and balance into our lives.

You can listen to the replay here:

http://www.instantteleseminar.com/?eventid=1801641
or download it onto your computer or ipod for later.

If you don’t have time to listen to the full interviewm here’s Casey’s main advice:

Whenever you find yourself in a stressful or uncertain situation:
Stop. Breathe. Smile.

In other words, stop whatever you are doing or thinking for a moment.
Focus on your breathing.
Smile.

Simple as that.

Just thinking maybe we could simplify further by remembering this technique as
SOS. ‘O’ being the shape of your mouth when you take a deep breath.

Interesting how similar the philosophy is between Taoism and hand analysis.
Namely, the law of polarity, the paradox principle and the ying/yang principle are all the same thing. You can’t have one element without also having its opposite. The seeds of one pole are at the core of the other. Eg. The seeds of success are inside every failed attempt.

I’ll summarise some key points Casey made in the next blog .

Day 12 - the 12 month grace shower

We heal the planet by healing ourselves.

This day is dedicated to all people who are engaged in the idea of spontaneous, miraculous self healing.

The idea was inspired by my dear friend and fellow writer and dreamer Edwina Peterson Cross
who has just undergone spinal surgery, and a family friend Jas who is recovering from cancer.
Both these women have boldly embraced the concept of spontaneous, miraculous self healing and I salute them for their courage. Most of us do not realise the enormous wealth of what we have because we have ever lost it (our perfect health).

I'd like to entertain the idea of creating and anchoring a grace shower on this planet that anyone can step into whenever each of us needs extra energy, grace, help, guidance, healing...

The design of this shower is a mixture of 3 ideas:
Part comes from Tom Kenyon and his Hathors, part from Sanaya Roman and Orin from her books, Spiritual Growth or Soul Love and part from Suzanna Kennedy

Whenever you have extra joy or bliss you wish to share with others, at any time of the day or night, or specifically at 7am and 12 noon and 10 pm Pacific time (7 am, 4 pm and 9 pm Swiss time) please do the following exercise:

Imagine golden light coming down through your head to your heart and then going down to the center of mother Earth. Mother Earth responds by sending a ruby red ray back up to souce runnung through your heart. The two rays dance together in your heart and when you are ready you send a ray of rainbow light to connect your heart with each of the hearts of everyone else in the circle of healing. This circle of connectedness makes it possible to bring down a huge shower of grace in the middle of this circle.

Who ever wishes to step into this circle and into this grace shower can do so at any time.

Protect yourself with sacred geometry: Put yourself fully into an octahedron whenever you feel you need protection. For example, when lying on your bed, imagine the 4 corners of your bed being the 4 corners of the base of a pyramid. A pyramid goes up above you and down below you.
This diamond shape is an octahedron. Put yourself completely inside it, any size or direction you care. For more information, see Tom Kenyon's site.
Or use the star of David or any other sacred geometry you know of.

I'm off for a few days of dreaming in the mountains.
So, if you send me a mail and don't hear from me, please donit be offended!

As they say in Switzerland, wishing you a Gute Rutsch (a good slide) into 2008.

with love and appreciation,
Jena

Day 11- Stepping beyond your comfort zone

In order to grasp and fully utilise all the gifts offered to you on all the previous days
You need to learn how to step beyond your own comfort zone.

David Neagle teaches these skills in a seminar twice yearly, his next is in Las Vegas 15-17 January 2008. Listen to my interview with him here, get a free evaluation from a coach trained by him and have his CD program ‘Just Believe’ posted to you free of charge here. (I’ve checked it out. There is no pressure to buy anything. Accept this as a gift from the universe for having the courage to step beyond your comfort zone to embrace the idea that ‘receiving is also giving’. )

Learning to feel the fear and do it anyway

One has to learn to go through the zone of uncomfort. Normally we go into this zone and then step back. We have no training in going through the zone of discomfort to the zone of success.
Neagle says usually we only experience this as babies, being encouraged to walk. Later parents focus on teaching their children to be cautious rather than adventurous.. We don’t have the experience of going over the uncomfortable line into the zone where in becomes comfortable and where we experience a different result. This is an awareness that has to be learnt through direct experience. Neagle specialises in this training.

I like to think of the analogy of Elephants in India who can be bound by a tiny chord tied to a post. As a baby, the animal learnt that it couldn’t move the post. As it grows up it gives up trying. It simply believes it can’t break free. This is absolutely not true. As adults, they just haven’t tried and never do!! They are bound by their belief.
We are all like these elephants, bound by faulty programming, our belief in our own limitations.

We are raised to listen to listen to the voice of caution, to concerns, fears, irrational beliefs and this flips us back in the direction we don’t wish to go in.
Do you have the awareness to see the gift in whatever it is you are attracting? If you do, you can transform your life really quickly. (Everything you attract is an opportunity, where is the hidden gift?)

Learn how to be resourceful. The resources are there the whole time. One just has to seize them. One has to learn how to think on one’s feet to manifest something from nothing in a very short period of time.

Other thoughts from David:
Dealing with defensive people/children – when someone is defensive they are in fear of something being taken away, usually something being taken away from their identity. This makes them feel no good, not adequate. Help others/your children to think about themselves differently, not as a thing or a result. Teach them how to not be afraid to embrace whatever they want to embrace.

When you put up a shield, if you take down shield what will hurt? Get in touch with that hurt.

When thinking, feeling and action are all congruent that’s the stuff of miracles.

You can’t change something you are not aware of. Start being conscious of your thinking. Thinking about your thinking. Why do you have the beliefs that you have?

The decision making process is part of the process described in my email titled ‘seeing opportunities’ to read this newsletter see my blog by this name.

To summarise the process:

If you ask for something you are given an opportunity to grow towards what you seek.

The trick is:
Recognise the opportunity (you either do or don’t)
Make a committed decision (if you procrastinate it takes longer) (see day 4)
Learn to adapt and grow so that you can
See the next opportunity

Day 9 - the nine environments of you

Information/skill is only responsible for 10% of your success, mind set for 40% but an incredible 50% of your success is based on your environment.

Therefore, on the 9th day of dreaming I bring you ‘the 9 environments of you.’

We can shape or craft our environments instead of having our environments control us.

In this time of dreaming, ask yourself, what one thing can you add or delete to each environment to improve your life.

Hand analysis helps you define your environment called ‘self’, your natural talents and core self. What about your other 8 environments? How are they impacting on you and what you can do to change or craft these environments to improve your life or achieve your dreams?

For more information on your 9 environments listen to
Jack Canfield's and Jim Bunch's free teleseminar on this subject. (70 minutes)
http://canfieldtrainings.com/free/
download load the visual material here (nice image of the 9 environments)

Also in this call:

Canfield’s 7 strategies for creating your ultimate life.

1.design your 10-30 year plan, ultimate life (if blocked its your memetics) high level players have a big vision. Creating the vision unleashes your power and aligns the universe. Look at what you would like all your 9 environments would look like. Create the vision.
2. focus on your 3 big wins for the year. (One for happiness, one for health one for wealth)
3. design your pre-game strategy
4. be a pro
5. recruit your dream team/ play partners
6. play full out and play to win. AAA raise your awareness, accountability, massive action.
7. master your game and review the game daily. The evening review: what could I have done better…no shaming or blaming. How do I want to do it better; replay it in my head the way I want to. To become effective you need to take time to review.

Happy dreaming!

Day 8 - Eight ways to change your luck

Everything is energy and everything in your life influences your energy.

On the 8th day of dreaming I bring you
8 ways to change your fortune:

The 3 lucks and the 5 basic steps to get the energy flowing in your life.

The other day I was listening to the feng shui guru of gurus, Marie Diamond, talking about the three ‘lucks’ in our lives. This reminded me of a small-framed sign that used to amuse me as a child. I could almost anticipate which homes would have it. Usually the homes of little old ladies and usually it hung in the hallway or kitchen with a small image of praying hands or a sunset or something similar.

I’m talking about the serenity prayer by Reinhold Niebuhr: ‘God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can; and the wisdom to know the difference.’ There was a smugness and resignation about it that got up my nose even as a child. I’m not sure exactly what it was, but I hated this sign with a passion and anyone who hung it immediately scored a black mark in my book. (Not that they could care less what that horrible bushy eye-browed brat thought anyway!)

But now that I am tiptoeing gradually in the direction of ‘little-old-ladydom’ I’m thinking that maybe that prayer had some wisdom in it after all! There are things we can change and things we can’t. Yet still there is a part of me that totally rebels against this idea.

There is a lot more we can change than we realise.

Marie Diamond talks about heaven luck, human luck and earth luck. With the idea that you have no direct control over heaven luck though you can influence it by changing your human and earth luck. I disagree.

Granted some ‘heaven luck’ things we can’t change, such as ‘place of birth: Boksburg’ or the astrological moment of your birth, or your dreaded relatives, and these have an impact on our lives. But what we can change is our attitude to our ‘heaven luck’ and that changes everything.

Besides, some ‘heaven luck’ things you can change directly, such as your name, and this can greatly effect you energetically. When you change your name you change both your temperament and your destiny. Women need to consider these implications when changing name through marriage. We can also conciously improve a child's destiny by choosing names wisely and appropriately depending on the day the child is born.

You can also change the energetic effect of family circumstances and birth date on you by being conscious of cycles (5th law of universe/the law of rhythm) andusing the timing of these cycles to your advantage and also by reframing the past.

Knowing your fingerprints can help you reframe the past because they help you realise that you chose the circumstances into which you were born. You are the actor, director and author of your movie.

Back to Marie Diamond’s 3 lucks.
According to Marie, there’s
Heaven Luck (the life circumstances you were born into, including your talents).
Human Luck – your attitudes and behaviours that determine what you do with ‘heaven luck’.
And
Earth Luck – the positive and negative influences of the environment that you live and work in.

Feng shui improves your earth luck enabling you to consciously direct the flow of energy around you 24 hours a day. Recent studies show that changing the feng shui of a room actually influences brainwaves!
http://www.learningstrategies.com/FengShui/BrainWaves.asp
According to Diamond, ‘Feng shui is like a form of acupuncture for the unified field of energy that includes your home and body. Activate an area of your home and you start a flow of energy through your body, mind and soul for more success in your career, health, relationships and spiritual growth.’

Here are her 5 basic steps to improve the flow of energy
in your home or office environment.

Step 1. clean your de-clutter your home or work space
Think of yourself as a queen or king taking up residence in your home.
Prepare every room with this in mind. Create space, clear clutter, wipe away dust, clean the floors. Remove all dead and dried flowers. Put out fresh bouquets or bowls of fruit instead. (You need to create a vacuum for new things to come into your life by getting rid of all things that no longer serve you. For now, just hide the clutter in closets.

Step2.
Choose a chair for a king or queen.
Sit on a strong, solid high backed chair with a solid wall behind your back.

Step3.Position your desk
Position yourself like a king or queen where you can see the incoming flow from where you sit. You’ll make the right decisions because you can see opportunities that come to you. However, don’t sit in the direct flow from the door.

Step 4. Position your bed.
Dreams and inspiration influence great decisions so position your bed Sleep in a queen or king sized bed, even if alone. Position your bed so that you can see the door but are not in the flow and have a solid wall behind you.
Sleep with your head towards one of your four best directions.
To do this you need to know your Kua (personal energy number) number.
Go here and look for your number according to your birthdate and gender.:

Position yourself facing your personal best directions whenever you can.

Day 7 - the 7 laws of the universe

Success isn’t a goal it’s a process. We start this process each time we step in the right direction. We do this whenever we become conscious of the laws governing our lives and learn how to make them work for us.

Therefore, on the seventh day of dreaming I bring you -

The seven laws of the universe + plus 7 ways to activate these laws in your life.

The 7 laws:

the law of transmutation of energy. Change is all there is. You can direct this change with your thoughts.
the law of vibration (also known as the law of attraction). Like attracts like.
the law of relativity. Everything only has a value in comparison to something else.
the law of polarity. Everything has an opposite and cannot exist otherwise. (All opposites are just different degrees of the same thing.)
the law of rhythm. Life has a pattern, everything flows in cycles.
the law of cause and effect (also called the law of harvest: as you sow so shall you reap)
the law of gender. Every seed has a gestation period. Whatever you want already exists you just have to know and trust that it is coming

Here the laws are again in more detail:

the law of transmutation of energy . Everything is energy and all energy is in a constant state of change. Change is all there is. It’s just more rapid now than ever before. Learn how to adapt to change and how to use the laws in your favour. Energy moves into physical form. The images you hold most often in your mind materialise in your life.
the law of vibration (also known as the law of attraction). Everything is vibrating (is in a constant state of motion and has a frequency.) The only difference is the frequency or level of vibration. Thoughts are creative impulses of energy. All matter is transparent to the vibration of thought. Every thought you send out has an impact on everything in the universe. Thoughts do not go away and they attract situations of a similar vibration to you. To attact what you want you have to be in harmony with it (align your body mind and spirit).
the law of relativity. Relationships are everything. Nothing is good or bad unless you compare it to something else. Everything in life just is until we compare it. This is the key to stopping self destructive behaviour. To increase your level of vibration be grateful for what you have, and only compare what you have to something lesser. How you compare your situation will either pull you up or hold you down because you change the impulses of energy you transmit.

the law of polarity. Everything has an opposite and cannot exist otherwise. All opposites are different degrees of the same thing. For hot to exist, cold must also exist. Failure is accompanied by the seeds of success. The more you are willing to experience failure, the more you will succeed. You go in the direction you look. What you focus on expands. Constantly look at the good in people and situations. Recognise the opposite then pick what you want to focus on.
the law of rhythm. Life has a pattern, everything flows in cycles. Night follows day. Learn which cycles are active in your life and allow for them.
the law of cause and effect (also called the law of harvest: as you sow so shall you reap). Whatever you send out into the universe comes back to you. goes round comes round. Don’t worry about what you can get. Focus on what you can give.
the law of gender. Every seed has a gestation period. Whatever you want already exists you just have to know and trust that it is coming. For anything to manifest it must have an incubation period. Most people give up too soon. Often we give up just before something is about to break through and we end up losing what we really want. The is nothing new in the universe. Everything you want is already here. You have to know it and trust that it’s coming. What you are seeking is also seeking you.

7 ways to activate this laws in your life:
The power of understanding
the power of mind sets
The power of vision
The power of partnerships
The power of giving
The power of accountability
The power of gratitude

These notes come mainly from James Ray’s program: The Science of Success.

If you’d like to get a clearer idea of how many of these laws apply to your life, have your hands analysed or join my mastermind group where you'll learn to combine the information in your hands with 7 ways to activate these laws.

Happy dreaming!

12 days of dreaming - day 6

On the 6th day of dreaming I bring you 6 powerful tools of the conscious mind.
Some useful things to know if you want to keep all your New Year resolutions!

Did you know that 84% of how you behave is controlled by your unconscious mind?!
Fortunately your conscious mind can change the programming!

How can we do this?

By changing our habits and beliefs.

It takes 21 days to change a habit, but once a habit is accepted by the subconscious mind it goes onto autopilot. Replacing bad habits with good habits takes conscious effort and will power for only 3 weeks but thereafter it’s a breeze.

The trick is not to give up in those first 3 weeks and not to try to change more than one habit at a time.

The conscious mind is made up of 6 intellectual factors. These are:

Reasoning
Perception (your point of view)
The will – you ability to concentrate.
Imagination
Intuition
Memory

You can use all of these 6 in different ways to help you create whatever you want in the future.

For example, you can use your willpower to concentrate. You have the power to choose if you want to be either a light bulb or a lazer. Your ability to concentrate determines your ability to succeed.

My gift to you: download in the free zone Theron Dumont’s ‘The power of concentration’ until 6th January. Thereafter, you’ll be able to access it in the member’s zone any time you wish. You can access it here.

Happy dreaming!
Jena

12 days of dreaming - day 5

Warning: goal setting may be dangerous to your health, it doesn’t always work and it may even be self destructive!

Here’s a dreaming skill that is so powerful it scares the pants off me.

Why?
Because asking these few simple questions has literally caused me to re-look all my goals for next year!

I could say, help! This is turning my life upside down!
Or I could say, hey, at last I’m getting clarity.

Isn’t is funny how so many people try to tell you the same thing and you just don’t get it. Then finally someone says this exact same thing in a slightly different way and this is what makes the light bulb go off in your head!

Here’s the technique. I touched on it on day 3. It’s from Jack Zufelt.

Jack makes a rather radical claim:
‘Goal setting not only does NOT work but it's negative and self-destructive for you.!’

Why does Jack say this? Because, to get what you want you first have to know what you want! When we don’t really know what we want we sets goals and don’t achieve them, Then, when we don’t reach these goals we feel like double failures. Or, even worse, we bust a gut achieving our goal only to discover that it wasn't quite what we wanted anyway. (you cna read about my experience of this right at the beginning of this blog site, 12 March 2007.)

Usually we don’t really know what we want because as children we have been shamed or told not to be so ambitious so we settle for lower, safer dreams and then we wonder why we can’t get all fired up about them.

Step one is, what really fires you up? What big dream do you want so badly that you’ll secretly do anything to get it? (Often we won’t own up to this dream because it’s been smashed as a child. Then we try to fulfil this dream in a round about way….eg. I’ll do this when I’m financially free or when I retire or after I’ve had 20 years therapy ….or …in my next life! )

What is your one core dream? Your unique spark? The highest expression
of who you are? What is the one thing that only you can offer the world? Something that you love doing more than anything else?

Usually, this is clearly defined in your fingerprints. But Jack has another method that will take you to the same point.

The only thing that really fuels us to achieve anything is desire. If your desire isn’t big enough you will not succeed. The trick is to connect with your deep core desire.

Whenever you set a goal or have a desire, ask yourself: how badly do I want this?

How can you tell if you really want something?

Find out what it takes to reach this goal. Then ask yourself, are you prepared to pay this price?

For example, to get a black belt in karate takes about 1 hour a day of training for 5 years. Are you prepared to pay this price? If you are not prepared to pay the price then take this dream off your list. Mostly we don’t find out what the cost is. We have the dream for years, we say our affirmations but we are not willing to take the steps necessary to make the journey.

To identify your core desires, Jack suggests the following technique:
Name your biggest goal for the coming year.
If you are not sure what this is then ask, what would I like to have that I’m not getting right now?
Then ask, if I had that, what would it give me that I’m not getting right now?

Keep asking this same question until you get to your core desire.

Once you find out what your core goal is all you need is a teacher.

To find out more about Jack’s techniques go here: The DNA of Success.

(Of course there’s an easier way. Just check your fingerprints. It’s all there!)

Happy dreaming!

Did I forget to tell you, your life purpose is visible in your fingerprints.
(Now why didn’t someone tell me this years ago?
Or rather, why didn’t I believe it!?)
;)

So, what does this have to do with the number 5?
Ummm… 5 fingers??

12 days of dreaming - day 4

On the 4th day of dreaming
I bring you the 4 essential questions to ask yourself each time you need to make a decision.

Whenever you are presented with any kind of a decision, it could be a decision to embrace an idea or to start a business, or it could be a decision about any situation or opportunity that comes into your life, simply ask yourself these 4 questions:

Is this thing something that I want to be, do or have?
Is being doing or having this going to take me in the direction I wish to go?
Is being, doing or having this in harmony with the laws of the universe (will it add life to me and to others?)
Is being, doing or having this going to violate the rights of others? (ie. Does it take away their ability to make a choice?)

If the answer is ‘yes’ to the first three questions and ‘no’ to the forth then let nothing else hold you back. Commit fully to the decision and act on it immediately.

This technique comes from David Neagle.
David says that most people get stuck here because they ask:
How is it going to happen.? It is not your job to know how! A leap of faith is required. Once you decide you are going to do something all of the ways of how you are going to do this, all the opportunities to make it happen begin to show up, but only if you commit fully. The trick also is to see these opportunities for what they are and embrace them as they arise.

We are raised to listen to the voice of caution, to concerns, fears, irrational beliefs and this flips us back in the direction we don’t wish to go in.
Do you have the awareness to see the gift in whatever it is you are attracting? If you do, you can transform your life really quickly. (Everything you attract is an opportunity, where is the hidden gift?)

Listen to my interview with David and take advantage of his 2 incredible gifts downloadable here.

Here's a big tip: generally whatever you are resisting most is your next step.

How come?

Whenever you ask a question, the answer is already in front of you.
If you are not seeing what this is, you are resisting changing something.
Generally the next step is whatever you are resisting most!

To summarise the process:
If you ask for something you are given an opportunity to grow towards what you seek.

The trick is:
Recognise the opportunity (you either do or don’t)
Make a committed decision (if you procrastinate it takes longer)
Learn to adapt and grow so that you can see the next opportunity….

If you don’t see the opportunity or act on it, there will always be another.
The only difference is it will take longer to get to where you want to be.

What is controlling your decision making with regard to where you are taking your own life?

As Napoleon Hill said, ‘Somewhere in your makeup there lies sleeping the seed of achievement which if aroused and put into action will carry you to heights you may never had hoped to attain.’

How to become aware of your inner spark? The highest expression of who you are?
How can you positively impact on other people’s lives? What is it that you can offer to the world? Your life purpose is visible in your fingerprints. To find out more, go here

Happy dreaming!

The 12 days of dreaming - day 3

I've been thinking about this 12 day thing...
I must be mad!
How am I going to keep this up?
; )

Also, what does Christmas mean to many of the people on
this planet? Am I being exclusionary? Hopefully not!

So......rethink!

Actually, this is about Winter solstice, the rebirth of the sun
in the Northern Hemisphere, the start of a New Year and the
big dreaming that each of us needs to do to dream up our next
12 months and beyond.
(How this impacts on those of you in the Southern Hemisphere
I have no idea. We live in a global village and share the same calendar,
so in a sense it does apply. Maybe mark your own Winter Solstice (end June)
in your calendar and redo this dreaming then for extra effect.
As they say in the classics: what doesn't kill fattens! It certainly won't do any harm!)

Anyway, back to our 12 days of dreaming.

Today is the third day of dreaming.

Today I bring you the parable of the three big rocks:

(I got this from Jenna Avery, who got it from Sonia Choquette
who got it from Stephen Covey, author of The Seven Habits of
Highly Effective People who got it from.....)

Three Big Rocks
A time management guru put a large wide-mouthed jar on the table.
Then he put 3 large rocks carefully into the jar. When the jar was packed to the top,
he asked, "Is this jar full?"
Everyone watching said, "Yes."

"Really?" he said, and began to add pebbles into the jar.
The group watched as the pebbles worked themselves down into the spaces
between the big rocks. Then he asked again, "Is this jar full?"
By this time, the group had caught on. "Maybe not," they said. "Good!" he answered.
Then he added sand to the jar and filled in the spaces left between the rocks and the pebbles. Again he asked, "Is this jar full?" "No!" they shouted.
"Good!" said the guru. Then he took a jug of water and began to pour water into the jar until it was full to the brim.

"What's the point?" he asked?
Someone said, "No matter how full your schedule is,
if you try really hard you can always fit more things in."

"No," said the guru. "The Truth is: If you don't put the big rocks in first, you will never get them in at all!"

We have to pick out what our "Big Rocks" are , organize our priorities around those, and only then look at what else we want to add into the remaining spaces of our lives.

So how do we do this?

Focus on manifesting no more than 3 big things in the coming year. Let everything else fit in around these 3 main goals.

One big rock for health, one big rock for wealth, one big rock for happiness.

Part 2 of this email: Getting to the core of your goals:

Are your goals really what you want?

"The hand will not reach what the heart does not long for."

With each goal ask this question: If I achieved this goal what would it give me that I don't have now? Then ask, if I had this quality what would it give me that I don't have now?
Keep asking this question till you get to the source of whatyour heart really desires.
Warning: if you don't do this exercise the goals you set might be taking you don't the wrong path! (This technique comes from Jack Zufelt. I'll discuss this in more detail on day 5.)

To explore your big dreams more, and what you have come to this planet
to accomplish, consider having your hands analysed in the coming year.

PS: Your greatness is visible in your fingerprints

Our Greatest Fear —Marianne Williamson
it is our light not our darkness that most frightens us

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?

Actually, who are you not to be?

You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world.

There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other
people won't feel insecure around you.

We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine,
we unconsciously give other people
permission to do the same.

As we are liberated from our own fear,
Our presence automatically liberates others.

seeing opportunities

I listened to an interesting talk the other night between
JamesRoche and David Neagle on the sly disguises of opportunity.

Neagle said something so profound it absolutely took my breathaway.
Something that I think nearly all of us trip over.

What's that?
He said, if you ask for something, it immediately comes to you in the form
of an opportunity.
However, if what you ask for requires your growth, the opportunity may
come disguised as misfortune or temporary defeat.
Often we don't even see it as an opportunity because it looks like a hurdle
rather than an opportunity! The big danger then is not to grasp the opportunity.

Why does the opportunity show up as a hurdle?
Because what you have asked for is not at the same level as you are.
It's usually much higher! You are therefore given an 'opportunity' that requires
you to move one step above where you are right now. In a nutshell: you are given an opportunity to grow. To stretch yourself to wherever you actually want to be.

But, here's the real gem.
Even if we do see the opportunity (for example, to develop new skills, hire a coach,
study or leave a job or partner) we very often don't act on it!

Why? Because we usually only see why we can't do it. Or why we can't do it right now.
Then we make a decision that keeps us stuck in the same place. The magic formula usually requires the opposite. It requires a radical leap of faith!

First we have to make the decision to grasp the opportunity. Only then do we get to see the next step.
Actually I know this is true. I've seen this play out in my lifeover and over.
And I've also been stuck on the other side just as often. Completely 'on hold'..
Seeing only the hurdle right in front of my nose instead of embracing the opportunity.

For example, we can't see where the money will come from. But actually, the first step is to seize the opportunity . Make the decision and commit to it fully. Even if it moves you right out of your comfort zone. Only then will you see where the money comes from. (You are actually flipping the coin here. We will talk about this later.)

Isn't life delicious!?
Neagle suggests:
When you ask for more love you get an opportunity to be more loving.
When you ask for more money you get an opportunity to provide more service.
When you ask for better health you get an opportunity to eat better etc.

Getting what you ask for is a three step process:
1. see the opportunity for what it is
2. make the decision to do it
3. change with the opportunity/ adapt and grow

The only things that actually slow the manifestation down are:
1. how you make your decisions (do you put it off?)
2. how fast you adapt to the change

To become an instrument for the music to flow through you, you have to discipline yourself to get there.

So what has this got to do with hands and laws of the universe?

Everything and nothing.

How this leap of faith works has to do with the law of polarity.
And what's that?

It's the principle that nothing exists in your life without its opposite also existing.
Everything has a shadow side. The only difference is: which side are you focusing on right now?Poverty is the same as wealth. Just the other side of the coin.
The question is: What side of the coin are you looking at?
Then.. that's your reality!
Flip the coin and you start experiencing the other side.

This law is absolutely demonstrated in your hands.
Your greatest strengths are also your weaknesses.
Which side are you focusing on?
Do you use your gifts or do you stay in their blocked shadow state?

Knowing you have this choice is what hand analysis is all about.
(Actually, knowing you have this choice is what life is allabout!)

We choose heaven or we choose hell with every breath.
If you would like to understand this principle more or have any questions,
please send them to me as I am interviewing David tonight.(more in next blog )

Do you have a Simian Crease?

Today's blog is dedicated to Silver Shaman James, who wrote to me asking for more information about his double Simian Crease.
A Simian crease is a gift marker.

What exactly is a gift marker?

Every 'thing' or quality that we possess has a light and ashadow side.
The bigger something is, the bigger its shadow.
Often it is only by exploring our shadows that we see how big we really are.

If there are big shadows in your life, ask yourself this: what enormous qualities do I possess that are causing these shadows?
The real question is, once we know who we really are, do we focus on the positive or the negative? Our light side or our dark.

This is the gift of hand analysis. To show you that you do actually have a choice!

If you have a gift marker in your hand this is a big deal. It means you havea talent that is so big that the shadow side absolutely cannot be ignored.

Why is that?
Because the gift needs to be centre stage in your life.
You are given a gift and you are absolutely required to use it.
Think ofyour gift marker as a very unusual, dangerous double-edged sword.
Why unusual? Because it is dangerous to no-one except yourself.
If you are not using your gift marker out in the world you will use it against yourself.
You will fall on your own sword. You just can't help it.

This is the dark side of gift markers. They each come with their very own, very specific penalty for non-use. And normally, these penalties are pretty deadly. (In German, ‘gift’ means ‘poison’! I find this‘co-incidence’ wonderfully poignant!)

The good news? (This is also why hand analysis is so powerful)

You can fix your ‘problem’ in an instant!

How? Know what you have and use it consciously! (This applies to everything in life actually!)
Back to Simians.
What exactly is a Simian line?

This is when you have only 2 major lines on your hand instead of three. Instead of having a heart line and a headline you have only one line. This means that the energy of the heart (feelings) and the head (thoughts) are fused.

What does this look like?
Why is it called a Simian crease? Because apes also only have two lines on their hands.

The Simian crease is the most medically researched marker on hands because it is the most noticeable. A very high percentage of Down's syndrome children have this marker. But this doesn't mean everyone with this marker has Down's. Quitethe opposite! Many highly intelligent, highly evolved people have this marker.

If you have this marker in your hand, know that you are blessed with tremendous powers that other people don't have.

If you have a double Simian then you are a very rare bird indeed. Your talents are multiplied. But, the penalty for not using your gift is also multiplied. (Normally this marker is just onone hand).

The more conscious you are, the more likely you are to be in the positive side of this marker.

What are my gifts as a Simian?

Know that you are blessed with gifts of extremism, intensity and stamina.
This is a tremendous gift. Hone it!

How?
1. Get very clear about what youwant because you have been given far more power than others to achieve your goals. When you want something you want it with your heart and mind.
2. Be conscious rather than unconscious aboutyour gift and its shadow side (feeling misunderstood). The more conscious you are, the more you can turn this gift into a positive resource rather than a handicap.
3. Make sure you have a worthy project or career upon which you can focus your intensity or you’ll start lighting fires in all the wrong places.

Yourhurdles:
1.Other people can't keep up. Be more tolerant andunderstanding of this. Try not to judge others for not keeping up with you.
2. You always do a lot more than others. Same as above; be gentle on others for not having your gift. You will always do more because you can do more. Love this about yourself but also learn to manage your energy and set clear boundaries so that you don't burn out.
3. Your energy is either on or off. All or nothing. People around you might see you as inflexible and may not support you as a result. Seek their support through mutual respect of each other's needs. Try to be conscious of when you are taking an extreme view.
4. Feeling and being misunderstood (the black box syndrome). Communication in both directions tends to get scrambled. Ask for feedback, double check communication if you think people have misunderstood you.
Typical examples:
a. Your intensity comes across as anger or frustration
b. people give their opinion and you hear it as criticism
c. You may come across as cold and aloof when you think you are being considerate

Always ask your listener, 'What did you hear me say?' or ‘Could you please tell me what you just heard me say?’

For more on this marker, read my blog Thursday June 21on this marker. Are you feeling misunderstood?

For the rest of us without Simian lines, getting focused is one of the single biggest things you can do to move your life forward.

Is God on holiday?

I read this amazing quote the other day:

Holding a grudge against someone is like taking poisonand then waiting for the other person to die!

This is so true it isn't even funny!

We poison ourselves all the time and then wait for others to die, or to rescue us or to do something, anything……wring their hands, shake their heads, write a poem, applaud?

So what has manipulative behaviour got to do with God being on holiday? Stay with me a minute, I'll explain.

I remember as a child seeing a movie about an extremely manipulative woman. Her final 'piéce de resistance' was to kill herself so that the others felt eternally guilty. I remember being blown away by the idea that someone would actually go through with this.

Bit of a gamble don't you think? What if they didn't feel guilty but instead cracked open some champagne and celebrated? You can't exactly come back and say, hey mate, I think you missed the whole point here! Or bonk them over the head (well, as far as I know you can't but then we'll never know will we?)

Thinking about manipulation reminds me of those Skinner box experiments they do with pigeons and mice and other animals. I remember once watching a video of pigeons playing ping pong just because they knew they'd get a food pellet at the end. There's that classic one where Skinner (or whoever) wanted to go away on holiday and dreamt up a scheme to leave all his highly trained animals unattended. He put the pellet feeding devices onto a timer. Every half an hour or so a pellet would pop out into the food tray irrespective of what the animal happened to be doing at the time.

When Skinner (or whoever) arrived back from holiday he/she came back to a wonderous sight. All the animals were doing really bizarre things and each one something completely different. One animal was turning in circles, thinking that this is what caused the pellets to arrive. Another was hopping on one foot, another was lying on its back kicking thin air, another plucking out its own feathers or whatever…you get the picture. Basically the animals thought that whatever activity they were doing when a pellet arrived was what caused the pellets to drop so they kept doing it until another pellet dropped... ad infinitum. Which just goes to prove they had the system cracked, didn't they?

So, maybe it's the same with us. Maybe every now and then God actually goes off on holiday and puts the pellet dropping device on a timer. We think the pellet's dropping because….well…you tell me?!

Superstitious? Who me? Manipulative? Who me?

I think being manipulative is what defines humanity. Let's blame it all on our opposable thumbs. We are built to be manipulative. To break and re-make things around us.

We've even taken this idea to its logical extreme. Our thumbs are an illusion. What we actually do with them is just a shadow play of our thoughts.

I think the real question is, do we act or re-act?
What are the real reasons behind the choices we make?
To what extent are we proactive rather than just reactive?
That's the basic choice we face every moment.
What's motivating us?
Need to control or need to be?
Fear or fun/love/trust?

If the pellets are coming out anyway we may as well be doing something that gives us pleasure and a deep sense of fulfillment.

It sure beats pulling out our own feathers.
Or someone else's.

Do you know what you want?

This week we are going to look at desire pollution. What is it?
Have you got it? And, if you do, what to do about it.

Desire pollution is a marker in the hand that’s always
fascinated me.

Why?

Partially because it sounds positively toxic, and partially
because it IS just that. Positively Toxic. Particularly if you
don’t even know you’ve got it!

Usually, if I see this marker in a person’s hand, there is no
point in talking about anything else. This is a life threatening
condition.

So what is desire pollution?

Desire pollution is caused when we loose touch with our own
deepest wants and needs. We confuse our own personal desires
with those of others. Sometimes this is caused during early
childhood when we have a too demanding parent, an overly
dominant or extremely needy mother, for example. In this
situation, we might learn to put our own needs to one side
simply as a matter of survival. Then we adopt the needs of
others as our own wants because that’s what brings harmony and
safety into our lives.

This is an extreme example. Another cause could be that we’re
simply picking up too much information from other people. We’re
ultra-receptive to the wants and needs of others. This is like
hearing several inner voices at the same time and you’re not
sure which is really yours.

In its most extreme form, desire pollution is called the ‘iron
vest’.

Terrifying name. Terrifying condition!

The effect creeps up on you gradually and the next thing you
know, the lights are on but no-one’s at home. You’re a stranger
in your own life, disconnected to your own deepest passions.
You’ll know you’re in the iron vest phase if you ever get there
because this is when your entire energetic system starts
shutting down to protect itself from further pollution, causing
you to loose all desire, including sxual desire. This is
different from ‘not being in the mood’. It’s like just not being
home at all.

So how do we avoid spiralling into this phase?

The remedy for desire pollution is time out. Time spent alone,
getting in touch with your own personal wants system and
rebuilding it from the ground up.

We humans are goal-orientated creatures. If we don’t have a goal
we’re like a heating seeking missile with no target. The result
is self-implosion. And if we give ourselves goals that are not
connected to our own deepest desires it’s like the wires of the
device are not properly connected to the real source of power.

So how do we connect our wires to our genuine power source? By
getting in touch with your own deepest wishes. What really
enflames you? What do you feel passionate about? What do you
really desire?

Is it possible that you don’t even know?

Whether you have this marker or not, here’s a brilliant exercise
to put the lights back on in your home.

Buy a box or two of index (3x5) cards and write just one of your
wants or dreams into the centre of each card. Write on the cards
vertically, rather than horizontally. Try to fill as many cards
as possible. Write huge things and little things. Material
wants, physical, emotional, and spiritual wants. What wishes do
you have regarding your family, your health, your finances, your
home, your government, your environment, your neighbourhood,
what do you want for this planet, your career, your friends,
work relationships, future travelling, food, exercise, your
spiritual development, outrageous fun, your artistic expression,
your parents, your brothers and sisters, ambitions, goals,
dreams…. Forget the how or the why for now. Just focus on
writing as many cards as you can dream up. Keep blank cards with
you and write on them whenever you think of a new quality or
thing you’d like to have in your life. Group these cards into
categories and keep looking at them daily. I’ve been doing this
exercise for the last year. It’s a fun thing to do and it’s
transformed my life. *

Even if you haven’t got desire pollution, I highly recommend you
get yourself a pack of cards today and start dreaming up a
bigger, clearer, more delicious future for yourself. It’s
possibly the most loving gift you can give yourself in this
lifetime.

Back to desire pollution. What does this marker look like?

Is your partner your ideal mate?

Today we're going to look at our heart lines and how they can help us live happier lives.

Your heart line reveals your emotional type.

Why is it important to know your type?

Because each type has different emotional needs and a different
relationship style.

The key to being a happy healthy you, is to live your type.

The key to building successful relationships (of any nature) is knowing your emotional style and needs. The more you are in touch with your own emotional needs the easier it is to make sure you get loved the way you need to be loved.

One of the most common mistakes we make is expecting others to love us the same way we love them. In reality, we all need to be loved in different ways. It helps to know what works for you and what doesn’t and then communicate this.

Another reason to know your type has to do with natural attraction.

What keeps the energy flowing between two people?

Does

Like attract like?

or do

Opposites attract?

Actually, both!

Like-minded thinking is what keeps the train from derailing.
But opposite temperament is what propels the train forward.

To keep a relationship on track it helps to have:
Shared values,
Shared beliefs about what planet we’re on and how it works
Shared dreams or goals
Shared ideas about child rearing
Mutual respect…..

Without this common ground it’s virtually impossible to make a relationship work, irrespective of how big the spark was in the beginning.

But when it comes to temperament, there’s a different force that binds us. Here opposites really do attract. There is a strong yin-yang push-pull force propelling, attracting, bonding us and keeping the energy dynamic and flowing.

Ever see couples sitting in a restaurant with virtually nothing to say to each other? It’s as if there is no dynamic, the energy just doesn’t flow.
This could be because they’re just too similar, or totally incompatible.

The danger here is that one person may try to adjust him or herself to fit the other person’s needs. As I mentioned before, to be a happy healthy you, you need to live your type.

Are you living your type?

What heart line type are you? There are 4 basic types.

Earth heart line types need freedom and hate clinginess
They show their affections through actions rather than words.
Their relationship style is reserved, ‘Not now, I’m busy.’

Water types need connection. They are sensitive and caring
They are sometimes too giving and flexible and seek to be contained.
Their relationship style is nurturing.

Water and Earth types compliment each other perfectly.

Fire types are vivacious and like to be the centre of attention. They need passion and hate boredom. They are challenged to focus and may over display inappropriately.
Relationship style: let me tell you what I want.

Air types are romantic idealists. They are thoughtful, considerate, and rational and hate conflict. Their relationship style is analysis paralysis; to think about feelings rather than express them in the moment.

Fire and air types compliment each other perfectly.

To figure out your heart line type, go here

Once you’ve figured out what type you are, here’s a simple exercise to help you get more in touch with whether your needs are being met.

Write down 8 needs you have right now. Then draw a cup alongside each need and indicate how full this cup is at the moment.

Get your partner to do the same and share your cup drawings with each other.

Now write 8 things you really like about your partner and share these too.
Appreciation is often the thing we need most. It costs nothing to give, but it enriches both sides once given.

Wishing you a week full of love and appreciation,
Thanks for staying with me right to the end!

Does hand analysis really work? Try this simple demonstration!

Try this simple demonstration!

Hold your two hands up and look at the inside of your wrists. You will see a bracelet-like wrinkle directly underneath each palm. Put your two wrists together so you line these wrinkles up exactly. Now stretch your fingers up towards each other, with your hands together, as if in prayer. Look at where the tips of your fingers meet. Is one hand longer than the other or are they the same length? Take the shorter hand (or any of your hands if both are the same length) and hold it up palm toward you in front of your face about 30 cm (12 inches) away.

Now say out aloud, 'Grow longer!'
Say this firmly and with conviction 8 to 10 times.

Now line up the same wrinkles again and see which hand is bigger!

It's astonishing isn't it? Your hand really does grow!

That's because your hands are energy outlets. They are highly sensitive organs that channel and respond to the energy in your body, including your thoughts!

(If you've been reading this and haven't yet done this exercise, please do it now!)

Thoughts are energy. And you can change everything in your life by how you decide to channel your thoughts.

As Einstein once said: Your thoughts are a preview to your life's forthcoming attractions!

If you'd like to find out more about what your hands can tell you about how you can lead a full, delicious, rewarding life perhaps it's time to consider hand analysis.

Do you have a broken Life line?

A broken life line does NOT mean you will die early or have some terrible accident.

No-one can tell you how long you are going to live by measuring the length of your lifeline.

Your life line shows what kind of anchor you have. Do you have no anchor or a strong one? This has to do with family background conditions and how grounded you are in your body and on the planet. Your life line also shows how you expend your energy,

If you have a weak anchor, try body work such as tai chi, healing tao, dance, martial arts or yoga to help you become more grounded.

Sometimes you life line is disturbed by your career line. This is called a '3 for 2' (3 lines instead of 2) and means your work needs to be all-consuming. In other words, you need a mission. A life project that fascinates you and keeps you occupied day and night. Your occupation isn't just a job. It's something you eat, sleep and breathe. It's your oxygen; what keeps you going. In a sense, your work is your anchor.

If this is you, you're not designed to be a 9 to 5er!

Have you found your mission in life yet?

Perhaps it's time you had your hands analysed to find out if you have any special talents you're totally unaware of.

On being more self supportive

Thought for the day:

“You can't help someone get up a hill without getting
closer to the top yourself.”–H. Norman Schwarzkopf

If there was anyone who really needed to read a blog
on self support last week it was me!!!

Is this fact positive or negative?

This question is the starting point and the key.

We support ourselves when we realise that no matter who we
are, where we are, or how disastrous our lives are right
now, there’s always one thing that we alone control fully.
And by changing this one thing we change everything.

So, what is this one thing?

Our attitude.

Everything in life has a flip side.
The question is: which side do you focus on?

Do you look for the advantage or do you trip over the
disadvantage?

Is the glass half empty or half full?

Were your parents real scumbags or did you choose them
carefully to help you become who you are today?

How you interpret past and present experience is the main
trip switch that overrides your entire circuit board. Flip
this one switch and you change everything in your life
within the wink of an eye.

(There’s a beautiful Zen poem on this.
It says: a split hair’s difference and heaven and hell are
set apart.
And it’s so true.)

So, how do we flip this switch?

This is a technique called ‘reframing’.

And it’s the single most useful tool you can have in your
‘self support’ toolkit.

Here’s an example from my life: Once, a zillion years ago,
I was taking part in a triathlon (SA champs 1988?) Going
round a corner, I dropped my water bottle full of precious
energy supplement. I was way behind some other girls (far
better swimmers) and still had 30km of cycling and a 10 km
run ahead. When I dropped that bottle I could have said,
‘Oh no, I’m buggered!’ and then I would have been. But, by
some miracle, I didn’t. Instead I told myself, ‘Obviously I
don’t need that today. It’s just extra weight to carry.’
Then I put my head down and in the end won that race, much
to everyone’s surprise.

The point is: we can’t change things that have already
happened. But we can change our interpretation of events.
And reframe it so that it supports us rather than gets in
our way.

This is where fingerprint analysis is so powerful. It helps
you reframe your past, by understanding that you chose your
parents for a reason. And that everything that’s happened
(and is happening) is for your benefit.

The Chinese have always known about this. Their word for
‘crisis’ is made up of 2 other words/symbols. One meaning
‘opportunity’ and the other ‘chaos’. In every crisis, as in
every single moment in our life, we are faced with one
basic choice. Positive or negative? Heaven or hell?

How else can we be more self-supporting?

By managing our energy (keeping one’s vibration high)
By getting quiet enough to listen to inner guidance.
By acting on intuition immediately
By reframing the past.
By loving what is.
By taking full responsibility for everything that happens
in one’s life.
By developing bone deep honesty with ourselves
By examining the choices we make. Are they based on fear or
on faith?
By changing these choices if they do not serve us.
By developing healthy personal boundaries
By showing up for our selves
By keeping the promises we make to ourselves
By respecting our own time
By replacing habits that don’t serve us with ones that do.
By trying to change no more than one habit at a time.
By taking small consistent steps instead of big irregular
ones
By being a person of action instead of reaction
By not putting our life purpose on ice
By feeling the fear and doing it anyway.
By formulating clear, precise goals
By not quitting
By surrounding ourselves with supportive people
By actually asking for what we need or want
By finding a mentor and/or positive role model.
By getting someone to hold us accountable.
By joining a mastermind…..

Are you feeling unsupported or betrayed?

I've been back 2 weeks now from my trip to SA and still
I find myself running.
From what?

Dangling X's!?

Yes, I know. I've left you dangling far too long about what
they actually mean.
In fact, I've left this issue dangling so long you could be
in danger of growing this marker on your hand as a result!
(And so could I!)

Let's see if we can start to rub these blighters out with
the help of this newsletter.

First a bit about my trip.

My fears about spending our 'summer holiday' in South
Africa's mid-winter were unfounded. The weather was
sublime, warmer than here! The bushveld was looking
magnificent with aloes all aflame, no mosquitoes and, we
wore Tshirts! It was great to catch up with family and
friends especially for Jules to get to know his grand
parents.

My courses and consultations went well too. There are now
14 people in SA who can decode fingerprints. If you are one
of these 14, congratulations! I hope you are practising on
family and friends. Thanks also to all who allowed me the
privilege of looking into their hands while I was over
there.

Back to dangling X's.
Dangling X's look just like they sound. Like little or big
X's dangling just below your heartline.

What do they indicate?

X's that hang like dirty laundry on a wash line are to do
with feeling unsupported.

By whom? In what way?

Well that depends on exactly where they show up.

Let's look at 2 common places:
1. If they dangle under your heartline below your Apollo
(ring) finger this means you feel unsupported by your
friends.

2. If they dangle under the 'point of intimacy', (that is,
the point on your heartline directly between your ring
finger and pinkie) this has to do with feeling unsupported
by your spouse or intimate partner. When this X is very
large it means the feeling is more extreme. Betrayal might
be a better word!

But this is just the first take.

It's easy to say, 'My husband betrayed me when he ran off
with another woman.' but if we look beyond the pain, behind
the veil, is that really true?

It takes a huge amount of personal honesty to recognise
ourselves in the mirror. The only person who can really
betray us is ourselves. We betray ourselves when we don't
honour our own truth. When we don't listen to our inner
guidance. When we give up on our dreams or don't support
ourselves in numerous small or big ways.

Usually it takes quite a bit of not supporting oneself
before one's partner is ready to collaborate and mirror for
you the shadow side of self betrayal. Ask me! (been there,
done that, bought the t-shirt.!)

If you are feeling unsupported by your intimate partner ask
yourself: in what way am I not supporting myself?

And, what about friends?

Let's examine this feeling of not being supported by
friends a bit deeper.

I find this one even more difficult to own up to.

Have you ever heard this wisecrack:
'I can keep a secret. It's the people I tell it to who
can't!' ?
Well, that's what these particular X's are mostly about at
a deeper level.

Sometimes takes years of therapy to see that the betrayal
we accuse others of is actually in our own hearts.

When this happened to me once it knocked the wind right out
of my sails.
I always thought of myself as loyal and honest but I broke
a friend's confidence by passing on delicate (okay let's
get real here. Make that juicy and highly damaging!!)
information to my husband about a third person (his new
lover!)

I thought as "the wounded one" I was justified in
'enlightening' him. But in the process I betrayed a dear
friend. It turned out she was the only person on the planet
who knew that particular snippet of information and I'd let
her down real bad by breaking her confidence and passing the
information on.

It's not a question of whether you can trust the next
person with the information.
The question is, can you keep a confidence? Can you refrain
from passing on gossip?

I once came across a list of quotes by famous people
compiled by a leading personal growth expert.(I forget
which one). About halfway down was this:
'If you can't say something nice about someone, don't say
anything.' by....... your mother!

I thought this was very funny because that is exactly what
my mom used to say.
Probably yours too!!

So how can we support ourselves?

By listening to inner guidance. By showing up for
ourselves. By setting limits. By staying congruent. By not
putting our life purpose in ice. By putting our own joy and
happiness first...

In my next blog we'll look at these and other ways we can support
ourselves in more detail.

In the meantime, if you need any support, just look at your
hands.
Your strengths and talents are all there.

Warmly,
Jena

Are you a turtle or a hedgehog?

I never used to have a bubble or doubling on my heartline!
This is something I have watched grow into my hands with a
mixture of both horror and fascination over the last 2
years. Doubling and dangling x's!!!
Did I say dangling x's?! I don't want dangling x's on my
hand! Help!!! Rub them out quick!

What am I talking about?
Take a look at your heartline. That's one of the 3 main
lines on your hand. The one that runs closest to your
fingers.

Doubling means instead of one smooth line it's double in
places.

The most common place to get doubling on a heartline is
under the pinkie (Mercury) or under the ring finger
(Apollo) or both. The point on your heartline directly between
these two fingers is called the 'point of intimacy'. That's the place
where you get a bubble on your heartline if you were ever badly
hurt by a lover/partner/spouse.

If you've got doubling on your heartline that means you've
built a protective shield around your heart to stop
yourself getting hurt in the future.

There's a good news and a bad news side to this little
scenario.

The good news side? You won't easily get hurt.

The bad news side? Well, have you ever tried to hug a
turtle? It's not much fun, is it?

Some people are even harder to get close to than turtles.
They're all prickly. Now, who's going to be dumb enough to
willingly hug a hedgehog?

If you've been hurt over and over in relationships, it's
difficult to 'open up' and be vulnerable. But look at it
from the other side of your towering walls.

It takes a real hero/ Prince Charming to hack their way in.
It's hard work and
not much fun. Especially if all those spiked brambles keep
growing back!

When you have doubling on your heartline, this is caused by
conflict between your heart and your brain. It indicates a
fear of vulnerability.

The mind says, 'I don't want to risk getting hurt. My life
is as good as it is. It's safer and more manageable to be
alone.'

But the heart would never say that. It only wants to love
and be loved. Deep down we all seek intimate connection
with another human being.

Doubling on the heartline has the effect of turning down
the volume on your heart so that you can't hear it's
longing.

If you've been living this way for a while, you can
recognise the feelings you want to have, but you can't
engage because you're so used to keeping the heart's
volume as low as possible.

In extreme cases, you feel a 'disconnect' between the
feelings you think you should be having and actually
feeling them.

Sometimes we are so starved of turning the heart volume up
that we look for someone else to create it for us. You want
the other person to be more open, more interested, more engaged
because you don't want to be.

This causes the other person to back off thinking, 'Why do
they want so much from me??'

Vulnerability is what allows healing to begin.
Vulnerability is not a sign of weakness. It's intoxicating.
And it's the key to connectedness.

And what about dangling x's? That will have to be next
week's topic!

hand analysis, tea leaves and magic carpets

Two friends in one day have asked me to self examine my religious-like fervour about hand analysis. Such strong convictions don't seem to mesh with my irreverent, iconoclastic personality they say.

I say, it's passion for the ride they're seeing, not an exclusive conviction.

Hand analysis is just one of many viable vehicles for self expansion/illumination.

In other words, if you need to go from A to B, does it really matter if you go in a landrover, a lawnmower or a lamborgini?

The point is to get from A to B.

As a vehicle, it’s not exactly a Volvo. I find hand analysis rather more like a magic carpet. It gives you a bird’s eye view of your life. It’s fast and unusual. And certainly not everyone's cup of tea.
After all, where are the brakes??! where are the seat belts?? where's the road??
and perhaps , more importantly, where is the driver's licence?

All these things are right where they normally are.
Upstairs. In the mind’s eye.

And, the thing I like most? the map’s in your fingerprints, so it can’t blow away.
No matter how fast you’re driving.

are you feeling misunderstood?

here's a fun example of what happens more often than we care to realize:

Sometimes people hear things differently to what we intend to say.
This happens to all of us sometime or other
but if you have a Simian line in your hand this is an ongoing hurdle.

Do you have a Simian line?

If you have only two major lines on your hand instead of three, you've got a Simian line. A Simian is considered a giftmarker because it indicates a tremendous ability for extreme focus. This is the positive side of what happens when the energy of the heart and head fuse.

But as with every giftmarker, there's a downside. In this case, the challenge is extreme miscommunication. What you say doesn't quite turn out the way you meant it.
People think you're being cold or distant when you think you're being considerate.

At the IIHA this is called the 'blackbox' syndrome. It's like always having a black box between you and other people. What you say to others (or vice versa) goes in one side and comes out scrambled on the other.

Richard Unger, founder of the International Institute of Hand Analysis has a Simian. So does Tony Blair and numerous other high profile people.

Down's syndrome people have this marker in statistically higher proportions. But this doesn't mean everyone with this marker has Down's. Quite the opposite. It seems, the higher the intellect of the owner the easier it is to use this fusion of energy in a positive way. . Actually, it is not a question of intellect but more a question of consciousness. As with all giftmarkers, the more conscious the person is, the more likely they are in the positive rather than negative side of their giftmarker.

If you have a problem with miscommunication, ask the other person to rerun the movie through their eyes. This will give you a chance to check if the other person has understood exactly what you meant.

Compassionate Communication

There’s a very true adage that says, we teach what we most need to learn.

Recently I had a really painful experience related to ego, surrender and the need to be right.

Somebody at a seminar treated me badly and I backed down, thinking I was being mature letting the issue slide. Then, on my way home, I felt a numbness that I hadn’t felt for a long time. This is an empty feeling that you probably won’t recognise, or fully own up to if you’ve been surrendering your will to someone else’s for a while.

Because I hadn’t been in this sort of situation recently I could recognise the numbness immediately. It was as if the fire had suddenly gone out of me. I felt boneless, almost without a will of my own.

As soon as I recognised where this feeling was coming from, I did completely the wrong thing. I over-reacted and fought back hard. This re-ignited the fire in my belly but I smashed a delicate, important relationship in the process.

However, I’ve learnt something essential as a result:
Surrendering doesn’t mean giving up your will or betraying yourself. It means stepping beyond your own ego in an attempt to really understand what the other person is feeling. This includes letting go of the need to always be right. Letting go of the argument.

Genuine surrender means staying true to your own truth but being willing to stand in the other person’s shoes long enough to make contact with the feelings behind what is actually being said. By addressing the feelings rather than simply reacting an entirely different world open ups.

Funny while I was writing this a mentor sent me an email about noviolent communication. I went on a web search and discovered an excellent article titled: Nonviolent Communication Beyond Judgment and Niceness by Lucy Leu

She says, “The symbol for NVC Is the giraffe. Not only do giraffes have the largest heart of any land animal, their height gives them a long view. Giraffe speakers give from the heart, and are able to see far enough to know the consequences of gifts that do not come from the heart.”

"No matter how big the issue, there will be peace if each party trusts that their needs matter to the other. On the other hand, no matter how small the issue, there will be war if one or both parties believe that the other party does not care about their needs." Dr. Rosenberg

If you’d like to know more about Giraffe language, and the four pieces of information needed to honestly express ourselves to others you can find the whole article here.

Do you trust your partner, your intuition, the universe?

This week we’re looking at issues of trust and where this shows up in hands.
We’ll be looking at 4 different aspects. Trusting others, trusting yourself, trusting your intuition and trusting process/the universe/God.

Issues of trust show up in your pinkies (little fingers).

The energy that runs through this finger and the area underneath it is all to do with communication. That’s why in hand analysis, the little finger is called Mercury. After the messenger god, Mercury, the god of communication.

Are your pinkies straight or curved?

A straight Mercury finger means straight communication. You say it the way you see it.
If your little fingers are curved, this means there is a breakdown in your ability to communicate effectively due to lack of trust.

Straight Mercury types also have communication problems, but this is more to do with calling a spade a shovel. Honesty without tact or regard for other’s feelings can be deadly. (I’m one of these types so I should know. It’s taken me a lifetime to figure out why people keep bopping me on the nose for speaking my mind.)

Back to curved fingers and trust.

Some Mercury fingers curve in, others out. Some curve only at the top. Each means something different.

If the whole Mercury finger is curved towards the rest of the hand, like a banana, this generally means that the person has difficulty in trusting men in general, and their partner in particular (if they are a woman), or women in general (if they are a man). This can result in mistrust and general suspicion in intimate relationships, making it more difficult to be open and vulnerable, which is a requirement for genuine closeness.

If only the tip of the finger curves inward (towards hand) this indicates a need to control the outer circumstances. Severe loss in childhood could cause this marker. The result is, one tries to control the situation, other people, the environment, oneself in order to feel safe…. But what it boils down to is a lack of trust in process.

People with this marker try to protect themselves by playing their cards close to their chest. They wait to see what the other person does before revealing him or herself. This might come across to others as manipulative even though that is not their intention.
Or they may try to second guess, instead of just being spontaneous.

If this is you, it helps to know where these fears are coming from and gradually allow yourself to ‘let go, and let god’. Trust that everything is unfolding as it should. Also, in this world of rapid change, work on self-trust is essential. The only truly reliable source of stability is a strong inner core.

A pinkie that curves away from the rest of the hand indicates a storyteller. Someone inclined to exaggerate, or leave out facts for effect. Storytelling is a gift that needs to be used appropriately.

If this is you, ask yourself, is exaggeration appropriate in this moment? How truthful am I being actually? Exaggeration can be toxic in a relationship because of the tendency to exaggerate the other person’s wrongness. This is a major turn-off. Or we might over exaggerate our needs which can also cause unhappiness.

One of the biggest dangers most of us face is not trusting in our intuition. This is particularly so if you have a crooked mercury.

Your guardian angel says, ‘Turn right!’
And you say, ‘What was that? Did I hear turn right, or was it just my imagination?’
Then, by the time you do react, it’s too late. You’ve been banged on the head or you missed something crucial.

Mercury fingers can and do straighten over time. It’s a question of awareness and making different choices based on this awareness.

Essentially all trust begins inside. All lack of trust is really a lack of trust in oneself. You can only trust others as much as you trust yourself. If we are really in tune with our intuition, other people can’t cheat on us or betray us. We betray ourselves by ignoring our instincts.

How does one build self-trust?

Self-trust is made up of self-awareness, self-acceptance, and self-reliance. It comes from deep form of self-regard built on awareness of one's positive and negative attributes.

This is where hand analysis comes in. Having your hands analysed reveals to you more than just your strengths and weaknesses. It gives you a platform for deep inner knowing and self-trust because it shows you how great you really are, and what’s holding you back from manifesting your greatness.

As author Mary Jane Ryan says, ‘When we trust ourselves… we're safe in our own care.’ We nurture ourselves, treat ourselves kindly, and we learn from our mistakes instead of beating ourselves up about them.

Having your hands analysed is possibly one of the most nurturing things you can do for yourself. It can be a life changing experience. Without a doubt, it’s self expansive.

8 attitudes That Prevent You From Getting What You Want

I was listening to an interview with Homer McDonald recently and was struck by the massive contradiction in what he was saying with my belief in the importance of absolute honesty and transparency/always speaking your truth.

McDonald says one should always find a way to agree with the other person is saying. Then, when you’re on the same side of the fence, the other person will be more open to hearing what you have to say.

“Yes, you’re right, I am never at home when you need me. It must be very painful for you ….’

If one starts from a place of opposition, the other person resists what you are saying and you’ll never find a solution.

This has more to do with kindness and compassion and protecting the other person’s pride, allowing them to feel you understand and empathise with them, than it does with dishonesty.

I think one needs to always come from a place of mutual respect.

So, show respect and compassion for the other person but also practice self reverence. This includes speaking up for yourself (regarding your needs.) and developing healthy boundaries.

As sa Baba once said, ‘You don’t always have to agree, but you can always be agreeable. ‘

Out of interest, here are McDonald’s 8 attitudes that cause all the trouble in partnerships.
Exaggeration2. Guilt 3. Self-pity (unhappiness) 4. Low self-esteem5. Self-righteousness 6. Submission to feelings 7. Blaming and escaping responsibility8. Believing that differences cause problems

For more on each of these attitudes see
http://www.stopyourdivorce.com/troubled-relationship.htm

Interestingly, at lot of these issues show up in your hands. Issues of trust and communication show up in one’s Mercury (little) finger.

More on this in the next blog: Do you trust your partner, your intuition, the universe?

The key to all change is awareness. Hand Analysis provides a profound and deep level of awareness about who you are and what your unique challenges are. It shows your greatness, the gifts you have to offer and your burning desire (the reason you are on this planet). It also shows what holds you back. It is an affirming and, for many, life changing experience.

Boost your self esteem immediately

You boost your self esteem enormously though self care.
Each time you stand up for yourself in small ways,
you give yourself a clear signal that you are worth it.

There are a million ways to do this.
Think of all the things you shouldn't be doing (things not in
your interest) but you are still doing.

Choose one thing. eg. give up one small thing you know is bad for you.

Let's say it's coffee.
Each day you don't have coffee your self worth goes up.
As soon as you break your promise to yourself, your self worth plummets.

Choose one small thing you know you should be doing but aren't.
Do it every day as an act of self love.
Reward yourself every week for keeping to your promise to yourself.

See what happens.

To find out how your self worth may be holding back from sharing your gifts with the world, go here or visit my website www.handanalysisonline.com

Mother's Day thought

I heard this cute joke about transformation yesterday
and because it's Mother's Day today it seems a relevant
time to share it with you:

Two caterpillars were sitting on a leaf when a butterfly
flew past.
The one caterpillar turned to the other and said,
'They'll NEVER get me to fly in one of those things!'

This makes me smile because it's so true.

There are phases all of us have to go through
whether we like it or not.
And whether we believe it or not.
And, who knows, it might even be better on the
other side!

It's the pupa stage that most of us keep avoiding.
What goes on in there is more than mysterious.

Metamorphosis sounds so grand. But what really happens
is more like total meltdown. Not one cell stays the same.
All of us have to go through this process sooner or later,
one way or another, if not in this lifetime maybe the next.

We birth ourselves. And we can't help not doing it.
In this sense we are all mothers. (Or mothers -to-be.)

So, happy Mother's Day!
;)
May your time in labour be as short and pain-free as possible.

To help you with the process, here's a Mother's Day special
offer from me.

What are your hands trying to tell you today?

Are you losing energy unnecessarily?
Are you hiding your deepest needs and desires from yourself?
Are you ignoring your talents and abilities?
Are you blocking unique opportunities?

Hands have a special way of communicating to their owners. Every day they can tell us something new. New markers or reminders about that can help you move your life forward. Some talent you might be ignoring waves a red flag to grab your attention.

The hollows, quality of lines, relative size of mounds and zones shows where you are leaking or over focussing energy.

The colour of your hands shows where deep needs and emotions are blocked.

Vertical lines show were you have extra energy available to you
Horizontal lines show where you are blocking energy.

Your lifeline shows how grounded you are.
Your headline shows how you process information.
Your heartline shows how you react emotionally.
Your fateline shows how you work with life's responsibilities.

Gift markers show rare abilities that may block your entire life if under-utilised or unrecognised.

Your fingerprints are the backdrop. Your life's unique blueprint.
They explain why you are here, what you have come to master.
What will make you feel fulfilled more than anything else.
and what keeps tripping you up along the way.

Your hands can tell you all this and much more.
They are your private maps for his lifetime.

DNA activation and fingerprints

Interesting research is being done at the moment regarding DNA, specifically the +90% of DNA that was previously thought of as superfluous. Human DNA is 173cm long but only 3 cm is used for genetic coding. Until recently, the rest was labelled ‘junk DNA’ because it didn't seem to have a purpose. Now scientists are finding that this may have to do with the family patterns, collective human experience and maximum human potential.

It seems that as a species, we’re designed to move toward DNA activation, but we each have to do the work ourselves. It’s as if each of us is born with a bag of Lego, something partially built and with no instructions how to proceed. Some people build a masterpiece, other people go round in circles, lose half their Lego pieces or give them all away and leave this life without having really achieved anything. This is where fingerprints come in. Your fingerprints are the ‘package insert’ for your particular bag of Lego. They indicate what you are supposed to be working on. You can call this healing karmic wounds or you can call it healing patterns that exist within your biological family, depending on what you believe. The outcome is the same. Your fingerprints show what trips you up; what causes you to go round in circles or give half your bag of Lego away. They also indicate the masterpiece intended.

Power giveaways

There are many ways we give our personal power away to others.

Power is energy and our hands are sensitive energy conduits
that accurately reflect where we are losing or gaining energy.

Power give aways show up in our hands as specific stress indicators,
such as a bent or crooked index finger or a heartline that curves down
and through the lifeline.

Sometimes these markers show up in the fingerprints.
This is an indicator that these are life scale lessons.
In other words, issues that you have specifically chosen to work through in this lifetime.

How do we give away our power?
How can we tell if this is a lesson of life scale proportion?

We give our power away
  • when we can't say 'no'
  • when we put our lives on hold for others
  • when we rescue others without allowing them to discover their own power.
  • when we doubt ourselves
  • when we try not to make waves
  • when we don't say what we really mean
  • when we try to keep everyone else happy
  • when we allow oursleves to be intimidated
  • when we have poor boundaries
  • when we look for our self worth in other people's eyes
  • when we allow others to run our lives
  • when we get energetically mixed up with others and their specfic needs and dramas

The first step toward dealing with these issues is being conscious of when you are giving your power away and how the pattern plays out in your life.

Hand analysis can help you recognise these patterns and give you pointers to dealing with them by identifying positive resources and perhaps even gift markers in your hand.

More information on this subject and special tips on how to stop giving your power away will be discussed in my newsletter. You can sign up at the top of this page.

What kind of fingerprints do you have?

Do you have whorls, loops, peacocks, arches, tented arches, gamuts or weird suckers??
Are they all the same? Are they all different?
Does any one in particular stand out?
Every finger tells a different story about who you are
and who you were meant to become.
What Earth School are you in?

Facts about fingerprints:
  • Our fingerprints are unique because our souls are unique.
  • Fingerprints start forming 8 weeks after conception and by 20 weeks are fully formed and unchangable.
  • If a fingerprint gets damaged it repairs itself gradually from within.
  • Fingerprints are also called dermatoglyphics which means 'skin carvings'.

How hand analysis helped me

When I reached the pinnacle of my sports career, I was filled with a deep feeling of emptiness. I knew deep down that cycling wasn’t the real reason why I was here, even if I was inspiring others to get on their bikes.

The same feeling came to me when I reached the top of my field as a copywriter. I was at an award ceremony, and had just won 'Writer of the year' award.

Our party went ballistic. A dream had come true. Everyone at our table was whooping for joy, jumping up and down celebrating, hugging me, kissing me as I returned from the podium. But for me personally, the euphoria was fleeting. As soon as I sat down again, I went into deep spiritual crisis. Was I really on this planet to sell more beer or lipstick or whatever?

A client came over to shake my hand and I said to her, ‘Please tell me, how’s this going to help the hole in the ozone layer?’ She left swiftly with a strange look on her face and I proceeded to get roaring drunk.

I don’t know how I drove my car home that night. Angels must have taken the steering wheel from me and given it back just as I got home. Somehow I survived a 3 lane highway but crashed my car into my house a few seconds after turning up the driveway.

It wasn’t long after that, for one reason or another, all my best work got blocked. I suffered complete burnout and took a half-year sabbatical to go sailing.

Afterwards I tried going back to my old job but something had changed in my head while drifting around in the Pacific at the mercy of wind and waves. I couldn’t take deadlines seriously anymore. At the end of hurricane season I went back to sea, searching for meaning in other cultures.

Two years later I hurtled head first down another track - motherhood. It was a good place to hide, caring for others. But all too soon the nagging feeling tugged at me again…why am I here? How am I meant to contribute to this planet?

Then one day I had my hands and fingerprints analysed by Richard Unger, founder of the International Institute of Hand Analysis. I was completely blown away by what lay visible in my hands. In one hour he told me more about myself, my soul contract, my stumbling blocks along the way, than I’d spent a lifetime unravelling.

I realised deep down that not only was this information true for me, this was a key discovery for humanity. We are spirits having a human experience. We heal the planet by healing ourselves.

All the information you need to turn your life into a work of art is encoded in your fingerprints. They are your road map for this lifetime. It’s so simple, so accurate, so elegant. Why hadn’t anyone noticed this before?

These days I help other people save years of going round and round in circles the way I did.

What is my life purpose?
Why am I on this planet?
Why do I keep having similar experiences over
and over?

Check your hands. You already have all the information you’re looking for, right at your fingertips.

Hands are Mirrors

Many people are losing out on vital information
because they have totally the wrong idea about
hand analysis.

Hand analysis is not about prediction or divination.
Your hands aren't crystal balls, they're mirrors.

Hand Analysis does not tell you how long you are going
to live or how many children you are going to have.

Your hands provide a detailed map of your inner landscape.
The map can’t tell you where you are going to go, it can
simply show you what routes are available, where the rocky
ground is, or the breaks in the pass. Its task is simply to
provide clarity or to show you what your options are.

Hands reveal one’s pure potential. They also indicate issues
that might be blocking this potential. Most people don’t realise
how gifted they really are and they go through life not using
all the gifts they have to offer the world.

Hand Analysis reveals these talents and therefore is
usually a very empowering experience.

There are two parts to hand analysis, fingerprints (dermatoglyphs)
and hand shape/lines. Fingerprints are fixed 5 months before birth
and cannot change.

Fingerprints represent one’s soul psychology, or soul agenda.

Hand shape (chirognomy) and lines indicate temperament and
issues related to one’s personality psychology.

When I look at hands I look at how the two interact.
One’s soul agenda has to be played out though personality.

Dermatoglyphic input is the significant difference between
hand analysis as practiced by certified members of the
International Institute of Hand Analysis and other systems
of chirognomy. The other significant difference has to do with
gift markers.

Gift markings indicate not only extraordinary talents but also
where a person may be challenged or psychologically blocked.

Hand analysis takes years to learn but fingerprints are relatively
easy to read. Your fingerprints are a soul imprint. They show
what your soul intended to achieve in this lifetime.

These days you can send in your fingerprints via email to have
them analysed. This'll give you a personalised 15 to 25 page
document on what you chose to work through in this life time.
It also gives your highest actualisation point. In other words,
what will make you feel most fulfilled.
